How different are Plane ESC's to Car ESC's?

Most plane esc's dont use brakes and have a soft start feature

Buy a sidewinder, not going to find much cheaper than that for a 2wd buggy.

I ended up going with the Hobbywing ESC. It's not for competition, just for playing around
