A few people run them on 5s but it can be hit or miss - you will need an extra cap, ubec and fan

Or just an Rx Pack
Mine runs fine on 5s.
With an outrunner i don even need a fan, esc never broke 150.

Ive ran two of my MM's on 5s many times w/o issues. Just run a fan and possible a cap board along with the right setup and you'll be fine.

5s MM -
07.10.2008, 09:02 AM
I run a 1512 2.5d on 5s with a modded MM. It does get hot but it works. I've got it geared as low as I can (11/46) but it's much better for the track on 4s, stays fairly cool. 5s is great for high speed bashing. Yours is lower kv than mine so should be better but I'm not too sure about amp draw, might be heavy.

I run a 1512 on a stock MM on 5S with CCBEC and a fan. No extra caps. I don't have any heat problems.
Only issue I have is that my two MMs used to initialize a 5S pack right off the charger and now I have to run the voltage down from 21v to about 20.7v in order for the MM to work properly, otherwise it just runs the motor for a brief moment and then shuts down.

I'm in the process of testing a couple MM's on 5s right now for my Hyper ST and my MBX4-RR conversions. I fried one of them, and that one has been sent into Castle to be replaced by a new one. I also bought an older version of the MM and hope to see which works better. Or if they work at all.

The 2 MM's that I have are from the original release, not the newer batch.
I wouldn't turn off the LVC, but the auto-detect on the LVC is limited to 4S. Just manually set the LVC for 5S. @3.2v/cell it would be 16v, but I prefer to run it at 16.5v (or 3.3v/cell).
