Is there any way someone could use an rc speed control to power an electric hub motor on an electric bike.If so how would you wire up the throttle? Would the throttle have to be operated by radio or not. I think a mamba monster would work great on an electric bike because its small and light weight compared to all other ebike controllers out there. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks

you could wire up a pot sensor than with a little bit of programming help, have it output a PWM signal which will run the MMM

It outputs a full-range PWM signal. Just add a 5-6V input (BEC voltage) and setup the ESC with the desired throttle range.

Thank you but whats a pot sensor and what is a PWM signal.

PWM = Pulse Width Modulation. It's the type of digital signal that servos use to determine their position. Basically you have a set pulse frequency, and all it does is vary the length of the pulses.

POT = Short for "Potentiometer" = A variable resistor. Like a volume control.

bat. powered bikes use big voltage like 30-40v. the mmm only does 25v nominal. they make controlers specificaly for electric bikes.

It would work fine as long as you dealt with the throttle being in the middle position for neutral. I am using an airplane ESC and servo controller to power a big outrunner on my campus cruiser.
