So-Cal Bash successfully completed!.. with stunt Video! - 07.13.2008, 09:46 PM

Here are some pictures from the first annual RCM So-Cal chapter of “E-Heads” I think it was a huge success we had some terrific guys show up with some totally assume builds.

Here are some highlights as I remember them!, (personal opinions may very)…
• The speed record goes to Rschoi_75 @ 55.1 in his XBT X-Ray,
• Longest jump goes to MetalMan “like 40’”, insane!!!
• Sickest trick jump goes to both Jnev & MetalMan.. jnev double tabletop jump and MetalMan backflip over another person jump.. (this I should have on Video)
• Most horrendous crash goes to both Jnev and MetalMan,
• Lightest 1/8 scale goes to me (808 with 4s) RTR @ 7.8lbs. (sorry MetalMan).
• Quickest 1/8 scale was Metalman SH Z-Car ZXMB (dam this thing is FAST!)
• Biggest lessen learned (High voltage power lines) and 2.4 ghz radio systems don’t play together well.. BP-Revo and me.
• Bets handling Truggy goes to (hand down!) Rschoi_75!..

Out of about 15-20 or so builds that showed up 70% were out of commission by the end of day. The battery station worked well as it had up to 5 different charges on at anyone time, I myself I went though (6) charged lipo’s in 5-6 hr.

No Nue’s or MGM were hurt, but we (BP-Revo) lost a 3s do to swelling and many other members will have hours of fun ahead of them cleaning and repairing their builds.

It was great day the boy and myself enjoyed ourselves thoroughly..

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME KINDNESS TODAY GENTELMEN..

Lets do it again!..

Nothing!.. Hahahahaaa..

The pack I lost was actually a 2S (I am very thankful it wasn't my 3S). It was a FlightPower 2S 4500mah 30C Pack. It is now locked in a metal tin that has been sealed with tape and it is sitting in my back yard on the concrete. It will stay there until I get back from my trip, which I will then (cautiously) examine it. So I will examine it Monday or Tuesday of next week (21st or 22nd of July). I have emailed FlightPower to see what they say (and hopefully see if they offer a replacement at a discounted price).

Other than that the breakages throughout the day were rather minor. Just arms or bell crank parts here and there (small plastic fixes).

All in all I would definitely agree it was a great day with some awesome guys.

I look forward to the next one.

Thanks again to MetalMan and TDC57 for letting me borrow wheels and tires. For those of you who take a close look at the second picture, you can see the (dusty) Black and Red G2R (which has a yellow sticker on it) has a shredded front, left side tire where a patch of tread is missing and the foam is showing. It can be hard to make out, but compare it to the rear tire and you can tell what is foam and what is tread.

My CRT.5 which is to the right rear of the G2R tore up a hex hub. After today, I have concluded that Aluminum Hex Hubs with corresponding 12mm hex wheels are the way to go for high power setups in a CRT .5.

I fully agree with everyone above that it was a great day. The bash went perfectly with a nice barbecue for lunch. I would like to thank everyone for letting me drive their rc's, but especially TDC and MetalMan for supplying my Revo and CRT.5 with electronics and parts.

If there is anyone that has most of the video clips, I will happily send my couple video clips I got for them to make a video.

Now its time to start planning another one in August.

Edit: By the way, my CRT.5 was running perfectly until I ran it full speed into a rock stuck in the ground. It was so dusty from the loose dirt that you could barely see where you were driving... I just broke an a-arm and a servo saver though, and popped my shock off. So the damage wasn't too bad, but the crash was quite a sight to see.

Awesome guys. I went to a local meet with a bunch of nitro guys and they loved my BL savage. They all want to switch now. Made me fell real good. Hope to see more video of your bash. Nice flip in the video.

I fly, I drive, but most of all I crash.
