My Xray 8xb - 07.17.2008, 10:08 PM

I traded my GS truggy to TDC57 (shaun) for his xray 8xb that you might have seen forsale. i got it today and got it all together i just have to pic up my new DX3.0 radio tomorrow and try it out at the track while im there before the race on saturday night gonna be a fun weekend.

for those who dont know my setup:

Mod1 mm, cc bec, feagio 10xl w/ clamp,hitec 5645 servo, and flightpower 5s 5000 lipo.

i know the big grinded spot on the heat sink kills the looks but there aint much i can do about that, i have geared for 43 mph should be pretty decent on temps since this thing is a TON lighter than the truggy i ran these electronics in. I also had to take off the 808 rear shocks and both towers due to not having a shock bushing and not all the right hardware but later i will pick up some 808 front shocks and switch to the big bores

here are the pics

As i was never fournitre enough to ever run it myself i'm really looking forward to your update / thoughts from the track this weekend..

PS.
Go the Team Xray and pull "Roco" Califorina setup sheet, I can fax it to you if you PM me your # (??)...

I hope you enjoy it Sir it will be mist.. But I / my boy do very much like the Truggy!! so we are even as far as I’m concerned

P.S.S.
There are two 808 front shocks and front a-arms on Ebay now... you should be able to pickup the front shocks for $38.00 and the front a-arms for $15.00, then you will be fully 808 converted..

Metalman, i think the mount is definetly thick enough lol i had to use some super long motor screw and i had to turn the pinion around to that groove to tighten it down.

Shaun, i had two setup sheets i got off some FAST guys in arkansas and i put it as a mix between the two, i read the manual and know exactly what each adjust does and it should handle like i want it to. but i will definetly post up my setup sheet that i end up using. but i just gotta say WOW this thin is PLUSH suspension should be damn near perfect for our rough track. and thanks for the heads up on the 808 frotn setup on ebay.

Driftbuggy, Im running it this afternoon when i pick up my dx3.0 and im painting up the body tonight so saturday ill be racing in the buggy class againist the nitros. Only 15 mains this weekend so im not worried about nothing, because these same electronics could run the truggy for right at 25 mins.

i will definetly get some action shots or some video this weekend.

i did run it tonight at the track, as i chipped in to help finish up two all new sections of jumps, but i got the body painted up and put on there and it fits nicely. i ended up going with a Proline Crowd Pleaser for a Kyosho 777, i did have to raise the frotn body mount about a 1/4inch but i think it looks fine.

wish me luck racing tomorrow, we made the track extremely techincal tonight so tomorrow will be interesting racing thats for sure.

handle GREAT, did push a little much in the corner for me when off power. I did break off the battery tray during practice after only one pack. BUT i stripped it down, ditched your velcro and scraped off w/e you had on the mud guard and i put deep gouges in the tray and mudguard, i then used JetSet medium CA glue completely between the mudgaurd and tray, i then used 1/8" thick 3m industrial "servo" tape to hold it off the chassis where it hung over past the edge of the mud guard.

I did take 2nd in the expert buggy, go checkout my thread in the brushless forum and read what happen and see if you have any ideas for me in that area.
