Very nice indeed. Is this your truck or someone else's? And that track looks absolutely amazing. I have to get out there soon. Do you NEED to have a transponder to race? Or does the track provide one?

I wish I could say that was me driving but I was the cameraman on this one. That run was put down by Dan - the owner of Tekno. The track is a brand new facility that just opened on the July 5th. That was only the third race day and they are already talking about changing the layout. That truggy was running a Neu 1515 3D 1360kv on 6S Hyperion lipos. Revo clutch setup - carbon shoes 13t clutchbell no springs. The Mamba Monster is a V1 with the fan removed. If I recall correctly everything came off the track under 120F. Maybe Tekno can chime in and confirm that.

I will be suprised if that truck is running 4S and not overheat on that large track running at that speed.

I'll put my money on a 1521 on 6S

Hi all,

Thanks for the kind words. I wish I could drive consistent like that every day, but you know how it is when you get nervous and such (did you see the jump out of the track? .

Yeah, Riceman has it pretty much correct. I was running a 13t clutch bell but with springs for that one. After qualifiers (85-90 ambient temp) the motor was temping at around 130, ESC 130 no fan, batteries 110 or so, clutch 150-160. When it cooled down that night (~70) after the 15 minute main, the motor temp'd at 110, ESC 95, batteries 90, clutch 130.

I'm running a Tekno Neu 1515/3D, MMM, Hyperion (Enerland based) 6s/4250/18C pack. It's a perfect 15 minute setup with a little to spare.

I'm going to try the 1512/2Y next. I think it will be smoother on the bottom and faster on the top with better efficiency and lower weight. The 1512/2.5D on 4s was one of my favorite truggy setups so far, so on 6s, the 1512/2Y should be about as good as it gets.

Lately I'm liking the clutch with no spring in my buggy. It's a great hybrid feel between clutch bell and direct drive. Real punchy if you need it, yet smooth on the bottom end with no cogging and great low speed drivability and jumping. I'll probably remove the spring from my truggy setup and see how it is on a bigger vehicle.

I'm so happy to finally have such a great facility within an hour's drive of the shop. We're trying to practice weekly on Wednesdays if anyone is in the area. Talk to you all later.
