new layout for 3905 users... - 08.10.2008, 11:49 PM

Was browsing FLMs site and saw this

NEW! 3905 BL Tranny Adapter FLM10010

Machined from billet 6061 aluminum
Mounts brushless motor low and to the side
Balances out chassis to allow the use of 1 larger battery
Works only with the new Emaxx tranny

i guess this sticks the motor way off down low in one battery tray almost and for you to run one big pack in the other tray which i believe is what most would prefer anyways.

id really like to see it on a truck, ive been wanting to get a MT because the MT class at our track is sad half never even finish the race, (all nitro related problems lol), but really just something to race in that class, and something to tool around with my buddy who has a 3906.

itd also be a good excuse to another 5s 5000 pack (that i could also use in my buggy) but id go cheapo on the emaxx and maybe even keep it brushed and use a 700HO brushed motor from kershaw designs on 5s with a MM, i think itd be a great basher setup for 35ish. and really cheap as all id have to buy is the truck, this mount, and a $30 motor, i have everything else.

I need that. I run a 5s pack on one side so it jumps a little off sometimes. I wish someone would come out with an aluminium trans case for the 3905, so I could have some peace of mind.

I have a pic on my other computer, I'll post it for you a little later. I'm running a Feigao 10XL right now with 20/58 gearing. I also have one of the Hobbycity 9XLs that runs surprisingly well on 5s but I mostly run the 10XL because sometimes I run 6s also.

That motor mount has been up on the FLM website for a couple months or more...

If the ESC is moved on to the battery tray, I can't imagine the weight balance being horribly off. And if you were to run a single servo on the motor/ESC side, that will help as well.

I've not seen anyone with that mount fitted- seems they prefer the central option over the lop-sided one.

Has anyone used this mount yet? Mine just came in the mail and am debating if I will be using it or not. I could run a single 5s battery with the motor to the side or motor centrally mounted and run a 5s2p 10000 mah. Talk about some run time.

Well I dont have a motor right now or myh camera. I but it moves the down about 5/8" and out 1/4". These would off the "passenger" side of the truck. I will try to get a camera and take comparison shots of the stock and the flm mounts. You would have to remove the battery bar retainer to make it work.
