Hi guys i am fairly new to this and have purchased a second hand G3R chassis. It came as a complete roller minus electrics but i have taken it apart and cleaned and replaced some parts that were bent.
When i went to put it back together i noticed that the rear plate that bolts to the X-Brace and bolts to the plate on top of the diff i had to flex and bend to lign the screws up. I also had to loosen the rear skid plate screws off ti bolt the rear diff section the bottom of the X-Brace. Is this normal or has something gone wrong somewhere. I have followed the instructions carefully and everything else seems fine. I did notice that there were some slight bends in the rear skid plate and the X-Braces that i straightened out, i am using EREVO Bulkheads.
Also when you mount the rear shock mount to the rear bulkheads is it normal that the bulkheads flex up to meet the CF plate. I mean there is a gap between the CF plate and the rear bulkheads before i mount the shock mount but as you tighten the mount the bulkhead is obviously going to move up. Is that gap supposed to be there to begin with. Should i just buy another chassis.
It is perfectly normal. its been noticed by a few people in the past, but you do have to kinda flex things to get then to line up- all down to the design of the gorillamaxx chass vs the way the stock revo chassis mount upto the bulks or something. Check the exploded views on the gorillamaxx website to be certain, but have no fear :)

I will have to post some pics when its all done. I orignally purchased an EREVO but when i saw the G3R CF going so cheap i couldn't resist.
Something doesn’t sound rite (?), I never had any issues with my rear bulks, SV6000 Pics would be nice and like Neil said, check the exploded views on the gorillamaxx website to be certain. if you send me your fax number I can fax you out my exploded view if you need it (?)..
Hey Guys here is an update on my G3R. I received a package form Gorillamaxx containing my new screws and skid plates. I put the rear skid plate on and what a difference that made to the holes lining up.
I also loosened up the M3x14mm bolt that joins the over diff piece of Cf and the X-brace piece. That reduced the amount of gap between the the bulkhead and shock mount. My only question is how tight does that bolt need to be? When i pulled the chassis apart to clean it and reassemble that bolt was very loose. However i dont have a lot of confidence in the last guys build quality.

I made the bolt tight enough so there was not excessive play. The bolt is ment to hold the rear diff tight. The screw actually pushes the diff down. Once you get the rear assembled, make sure the diff doesn't move up and down.
So the bolt does not need to be tight as long as the diff doesnt move up and down. Yes i am talking about "G" on the second page. I had it the tightest it could be
