Medusa 70mm and 80mm motors? - 08.26.2008, 05:13 AM

Anyone got any updates on when these are coming out, and more importantly, what sort of kv and amp ratings they're going to have?

I've heard various rumblings about August etc but nothing definite.

When I talked to them they are trying to do it asap, but sounds like they are a bit swamped with the demand for their motors. They can't even keep up on the 60mm's. Sounds like it will be at least a couple mos, I would be impressed if they are for sale by end of Oct. The 80mm does sound cool tho.

"*Based on adequate air flow around motor, i.e., open air stream behind propeller
**Max I can be present for 30 seconds
All Medusa Research motors are rated for 60,000 RPM operation
For the best efficiency, your ESC should be setup with 8º to 15º advance, and a switching rate of 10 to 20kHz.
The above motors have 4 poles."

Right from their V2 page.

These motors will suck, My 60mm has no efficiency, no torque, it just blows. Buy something else. I'll bite the bullet and try a 70mm for you guys.

What's the #1 rule about fightclub??
