Welcome to RC-Monster, mambarustler!
The Lehner XL3100 would be a good motor for 3s. The Neu 1509/1Y would also be a good choice.
If you have a standard MT2 you will want to upgrade at least the differential gears. My MT2 started out as the 18SS version, and I even upgraded to aluminum differential housings because the stock plastic ones couldn't keep the ring and pinion meshed together well under power. After that upgrade I had no more durability issues with the truck.

do you think an crt.5 with the rc-monster ext. chassis conversion kit would be better? with the lehner xl3100 as in better i mean would i need to upgrade it? unlike the mt2ss ( I will probably me racing so i need the best racing truck between the mt2 and crt.5)

I also think the CRT.5 would be better for racing.

vxl is is 295
width of crt is-11in
width of rustler is- 10.5in and 12.25in (front and rear)

Hi,
I'm new to this forum but not to rcs.
I have a nitro MT2 but I simply hate nitros.
Can I just use the crt.5 chassis full kit with motor mount to convert my MT2 to EP without mods?
Thanks

The front and rear ends of the MT2 aren't going to line up with the CRT.5 chassis without modifications to the chassis, unfortunately.

The easiest way to convert the MT2 is to just use a piece of aluminum angle to mount the motor, and velcro straps to hold in the battery. Here's what my first conversion of the MT2 looked like:

That was using saddle packs, which was what I found easiest to do on that chassis.
