Why I don't post in here any more.... -
09.15.2008, 02:53 PM
Several people have asked why I stopped posting in RC-Monster.
When people are actually interested in hearing what we are doing to investigate and fix problems on the MMM, then I will resume posting here -- but as long as RC-Monster is just a forum to bash, name-call, and rumor monger, then I won't post here.

Sorry to hear that Patrick. I think the majority of the people here do sincerely appreciate and value your (and other CC employees') input. Most of us realize that there are bound to be issues with any new release, but some lose sight that this is a hobby and not to get so worked up about it. I find it humorous that the same people who bitch the most about their stuff not working are the ones that buy more of it.
I more than once thought about deleting/editing the more aggressive posts, but didn't want to give the impression that the site is full of fanboys, and that they can post the good and the bad. However, there should be no name-calling, or outright bashing something. It's one thing to express experiences (good or bad), but another to rant on and on. If something like this comes up, I would suggest PM'ing a mod so we can edit/delete as necessary.

Thanx BrianG,
I'll keep that in mind. At this point, there just is so much bashing, and too little information here to be really worth continuing to post.
I will try to keep everyone updated as we learn more.
Just to let everyone know:
It seems that the issues are setup related, because certain people go through MMM after MMM, and others don't have problems.
We have received several setups from users so that we can try to reproduce the issues where MMM controllers are failing.
Thanx!
Patrick

You may want to email/PM Mike about this. He may not be as hesitant to delete posts as I am (it is his forum after all!). I think he values your presence much more than the chronic whiners.

Patrick,
That is truely unfortunate you feel that way. I have not been on this forum all that long but it seems to me that most of the members are willing to work with you and give time to get your MMM right. There are members that have voiced frustration, unfairly at times to be sure, over failed product but this should be expected given the history of the MMM (V1) to date. Many members have bought several MMM's and still continue to do so in light of the fact that there are at least some issues to be worked out. I count as one of those members and I can't think of many things I would buy knowing ahead of time that it may not work because of documented failures. Just because we are aware of some issues doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to vent or share our concern. On the flip side I share your opinion that name-calling and rumor starting shouldn't be tolerated. It seems to me that this is limited to a handful of members not the group as a whole. I don't think that it is fair to the forum community, again as a whole, to put out a blanket statement such as the one you made above, I for one actually get turned off by it.
So, this is just my .02 cents worth and I hope you can see that punishing the whole of us with limited information for the action of a few members isn't going to help.
Good day to ya,
Patrick (Also my first name)

I would like to know what is going on with the MMMs. I have refrained from any negative posts even though I am more than a bit dissapointed in the MMM having died on me for the 3rd time. I fully understand the infant mortality rates can be high on new electronics, I work with industrial electronics daily, and see this quite often. I certainly would like to hear if the problem has been found and remedied. Patrick, your input here is much appreciated (by me at least), as you have insight that can help with other things besides just the MMM. In the mean time I will enjoy running my rigs with MMs or MGM and not get too bent out of shape about it.

Patrick,
I'm just sitting here waiting for everything to be perfect before I make my purchase. I will definately be getting a Monster Max and also the HV versions as well when they are done. Castle has done a lot for this hobby and I know you and your team of great workers are doing everything to fix the issue with the Monster Max. I don't know many manufacturers that has the owner/president come into a forum to give info and help to everyone. This forum is the best and I like to thank Mike again for having it. I like to thank Patrick for the awesome work he has done for the hobby.
Regards,
Luciano.

Patrick,
I for one appreciate you and your teams input on the technical aspects of the hobby (emphasis hobby).
I'm anti whining, bashing and name-calling but do love a good gossip about new products and hypothesis on issues etc. Sometimes creative thinking can bring new solutions.
All the best

Yeah, so true Patrick. I think alot of new members joined this site because they knew you posted on here and were hoping that you can solve all their problems. At least 80% of posts on here are now in the Castle Section of people overworking/powering their electronics and having a good old bitch

How are we supposed to form our opinions in to words that are OK for you? I don't want to sound like a complainer, but when people have something rightfully to complain about, maybe you should just listen.
I have a new MMM that I put in my Losi truggy, replacing a tried and tested Mamba Max/Castle BEC. Well of corse it failed in just a few moments and took my $100 JR servo with it. (the MMM also failed in all of my team mates vehicles running DIFFERENT set-ups, ie:cell count, transmitter brands, motors, etc... 5 in all this week)
Now how can I help you Patrick so you don't feel bad anymore? What is someone like me supposed to think about a topic as you have posted?

No problem Hootie.
I hope my post is taken with some understanding that the customers are also having heart break/anger over purchasing a product that should be ready to go. It is hard for everybody to post just "information" when so much hope is on the table that the product you buy works like it's supposed to.
Sorry for having feeling too. But I am only human.
