Pictures of the fleet... - 09.27.2008, 09:16 PM

I thought I'd post some updated pictures of the rc's I currently have. Right now, I only have three and one is still being built (8ight-T). I am slowly thinking about what I want to build next, but I think I will buy a more powerful charger first. Anyway, here are the pictures of all three. Let me know if you have any questions on set up or anything about each car.

I also want to say (as I know this will get asked) that both MMM ESC's are working perfectly without any mods what so ever. The V1 is in the 8ight and the V2 is in the CRT.5. The 8ight-T will soon be receiving a V2 from Mike within the next couple weeks. And a 6s battery is already on the way for it as well. The electronics in each are:
CRT.5: MMM, Neu 1509/1.5y, Flight Power 4s 4270mah lipo, Hitec HS-5245MG, RCM motor mount
8ight-T: MMM, Neu 1515/1.5y, Thunder Power 5000mah 6s lipo, Hitec HS-5955TG, RCM motor mount, RCPD battery tray
8ight: MMM, Tekno Neu 1515/1y, Hyperion 4s 5350mah 4s lipo, Hitec HS-5997TG, RCM motor mount, RCPD battery tray

I guess you don't beleive in overkill! A MMM on a CRT.5 is just that....overkill! My MM does just fine on mine.

Awesome looking rigs.

Have you had any problems with the velcro battery straps tearing?

I just had my Gorilla strap tear and the lipo came flying out after a nasty header off of a jump at the track. So I am currently coming up with a new battery hold down method...

They're so clean! Do you ever drive them?

Nice collection you got there.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate the good feedback.

E-Revonut - Yes, the MMM is a little overkill, and I actually have a MM ESC and UBEC I can put in it, but the car becomes even more crowded than it already is.

spaz163 - If you are referring to the strap in the 8ight, then so far it has been strong. However, I only installed that battery tray about a week ago, and had the first bash with it yesterday, so I haven't had any long term testing with it yet. However, judging by the crashes and jumps I had with it yesterday, I don't anticipate it breaking anytime soon. I actually asked this exact same question to Dan (owner of RCPD) and he said that putting a little strip of velcro on the bottom of the tray really helps, and that the only time the strap has a chance of breaking is if you lawn dart a jump. I just put some foam padding on all sides of the tray and some extra soft foam at the ends of the battery.

What's_nitro? - I just wish there was someone with me yesterday to film when I went to a construction site with the 8ight and CRT.5. There were some pretty ugly crashes. And HUGE jumps as well. Living in Southern California though, the rain doesn't seem to like us, so the only dirt the cars will really get on them is dust, which with an air compressor, blows right off in minutes. But seriously, those cars see dirt at least a couple times a week... when they are working.

Here is a link to some video's I have on You Tube if anyone is interested:

Also, if you watch the desert bash video, the quality turned out really bad for some reason, but watch the ending (once the music stops)... its pretty pretty funny.

RC Product Designs makes both a standard battery tray and what Dan calls the "ultimate" battery tray which is built into the mud guard. With some kits there is no choice, but a few of them give you the choice of standard or ultimate. The ultimate IS the ultimate!

That is exactly when my strap broke... LAWN DART!!! Maybe I should try adding some velcro to the bottom... Thanks!

Very nice Fleet Sir, pro made, no monkey stuff. Jealous

I use the rcpd try on my 8t, works great, ive lawn darted so hard I threw the bearings 1/2 out of my neu and something with the rotor and shims being flown all over the place. (nue fixed it for free but told me if do it again they wont) the stock straps and tray held up but i use 2 extra, as I think Dirt Buggy had his rip apart soon beofre I installed mine.
