How many of you actually race your brushless at a track?


Anybody here that would like to race their brushless at the local track but don't because ?


I'm curious.

I'm lazy, and busy........usually at the same time somehow.

My local track (Xtreme RC, New Milford, CT) is very Brushless friendly. When all 5 of us (with BL-E's) show they often break us into our own class, otherwise we run with Nitro and the main is only 5 mins.

Oddly I only run my truck at the track, aside for some quick testing, I've never driven it around my house. My Dogs HATE the E-Maxx and make home driving unpleasant.

My son and I hit Reagan Rc Raceway whenever the weather permits. For the next few months it will be under a few feet of snow. It aint much but it is what we got within a 1 hour drive.

i havent raced my evo yet because of certain unforseen things but i plan on getting it going in the next month or so. for now i just run my nitro revo here at krazy kajun raceway

I have never raced a rc. I finally found a track with in driving distance. I just never made it. I wanted to go over and check them out.

You ought to take a day and head to the track. I used to just bash, play, at the house and park. When I checked out the track scene the first time it created a whole new outlook. That little ramp in the back yard is nothing like soring over the triple, nailing the landing and then scooting through the dogleg heading into the offcanmber hairpin.....Woohoo! Even just practicing on the track became an internal challenge and I must admit keeping it in the lanes and timing the corners and landing the jumps has become a real thrill. For me now I don't even think about winning I focus on finishing, being consistent, and limiting my need for a turn marshal. Funny, the less agressive, I drive the faster my laps. :cool:

squee, that track is HUGE, nothing compared to little old Hot Rod's. Granted, SV Raceway is about 30 minutes away, but that place is almost TOO big........just plain stupid to try and take it with a 1/10 anyway.

yea, kkr is pretty big but for some reason that picture makes it look alot bigger. they have changed the layout resently with more big jumps and straight and less little stuff. it is more mt and 1/8 orriented but there are about 4 or 5 guys that race 2wd st's. theres more buggys and mts than anything. sv is alot bigger though. i think your underestimating hot rods. brian kinwalds driven there. our little track isnt nearly that nice and big time.

Hey Coolhand. You havent lived till you jumped a table top almost as tall as you are. I just ran mt revo at a place about an hour from me called Rodslingers (you can guess the main focus from the name can't you). I don't have any brushless yet, but i ran my revo there sunday and had a blast.

Here's a follow up question.

If mains for MT's, 1/8 buggies, 1/8 trucks (aka truggies), and 1/10 trucks were 10 minutes would there be more electric people showing up to race in mixed classes of electric and nitro in the aforementioned categories? Or would the nitro folk completely reject balls to the wall racing preferring 30/45/60 minute mains?

I only bash, i've never seen or heard of a track near me, but i've never asked either, next time im at the hobby shop i'll ask.

electric is more expensive, it has a higher upfrotn cost. Not many peole are willing to get into it.

That is a misconception NBCAZN. Out of the box the nitro is a lot faster, but if you look at total cost on upgrades and have similar budgetsyou can get more bang for the buck with an electric than nitro. I raced a AE rc10t3 against both electric and nitro and had great successwith less money than at least 3/4 of the nitro people.
