full/mid size servo in 18t? - 10.24.2008, 04:51 PM

ok guys so i am either done with the whole 18t line or i am going to try and fit a bigger servo in there.

i must be doing something wrong but i have been through 5 servos with this one damn truck.

i bought the servo saver but same crap happens. servo strips or SOMETHING freakin kills the stupid thing.

i have a 590z servo sitting around waiting to go into a truck but i think this servo is just too big. i dont see a way it will fit unless i get a new chassis or extend the one i have just for the servo.

was thinking of trying this
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXN667&P=7
or possibly this http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTRE2&P=7

i would love to be able to fix my problem without getting a bigger servo but i just dont see what im doing wrong. i got the servo saver like was told and installed it but aftr 2-3 minutes it started acting up.

changed the servo stg to 70% because any less and i could barely turn right.

i figure with a bigger servo it will be able to handle my kind of bashing.

id love to keep using the 18t but its just not fun when im constantly effing up the servo.

let me know what you guys think

thanks

I have personally never had a servo fail on my three RC18s.

There must be something crazy going on in your specific set-up. Don't give up yet!

try a hitec 225mg its bigger than a mini servo, i guess youd say midsize, kinda like a lowprofile servo but smaller in other dimensions also.

its handles my POS mlst no problem

I hate you.

jk man.

I killed 3 hitec metal geared servos. Then I put in a 10th scale and all my problems went away.

I used a "bottom" line.
