Replacement V3 arrived - 11.13.2008, 08:29 PM

I am so frustrated with this thing, it will absolutely not sync with my transmitter, at first I just plugged it in since it was replacing a MM I figure the settings should be all good, finds full throttle and finds brake (some times, most of the time it Green with random red flashes) So I've reprogrammed the MMM with cut-off on, off increased arming time, pretty much everything. Started from scratch with the Tx still no sync!!
If I let go of the throttle it finishes starting up but is cogging something horrible. Think I'm about ready to give up on this thing!

The thing that is really frustrating me is that it should be a direct replacement for the MM, could the settings be that different??

I would definitively say that they are different. They are two totally different controllers. Make sure the settings on your transmitter are correct.

Start from scratch and make sure your epa's/travels are at center and make sure you are not just going through the program steps wrong... I've done that before myself.

I went through the epa's and everything else, so I was done, then I slaved it into my son's stock EMaxx with stock Traxxas radio and plugged in a Fiego motor, wah la it worked perfect!! Then I put it back into my system no go, slaved in the Fiego no go, scratched my head and dug out a Hitec Rx from my drawer, slaved in the Hitec Rx and IT WORKED!! Now I was really confused so I plugged back in the MM and the Futaba Rx works perfect, so all along it seems to be some incompatibility with the MMM and the Futaba Rx which means the one I sent back is probably fine also!

Anyway all appears to be fine now, just need to wait for the rain to stop!! Driving around the garage with Rx, esc balancing on top is not really a test!!

I had a similar problem with my latest v3. When I first calibrated it everything was fine then after a few mins of running it started cogging and stuttering. I switched the receiver from my Rustler (Futaba R153) and it seems to work fine with it. I noticed that when it was acting up with the first receiver (Futaba R133) that it was more like a glitching problem because I could see the red LED flash when I was giving it forward throttle. I also switched channel 1 and 2 to see if the receiver was fubar but it's fine.

After you do the initial endpoint setup on the MMM, power it down and plug it into the CastleLink. The program should show millisecond values for your full throttle, full reverse, and neutral positions. ~2ms would be full throttle, 1.5ms neutral, and 1ms full reverse. Is this the case for you?

I don't have a problem with the MMM using Futaba rx's on my trucks.

Initially it stayed the default values since it never found any of the points, once I installed the Hitec Rx it's fine now. It never actually found any points with the Futaba, it would just blink but I never got the sounds for each end point. (Futaba R133F)

Before attempting to arm:
- Make sure you End Points (EPA) for throttle and brake are at their max (100% or 120% depending on radio)
- When using a Futaba radio you most likely have to "flip" the Throttle/Reverse channel.

Trust me it was done!! The MMM does not work with the 133!!

No worries though it works perfect with the Hitec so I'm Good!!
