That's a lot of speed for caterpillar tracks. Looks like fun, except pointless in Houston as we get little snow if any......

It's said the M1A2 Abrams tank can get to 90 mph but the tracks won't stay on.

I wonder how the rest of the drivetrain holds up to brushless power. I was thinking about buying a nitro version and doing a conversion.

Don't bother with the nitro version. It has the same axle as the elec version. The whole thing is super light too. Almost everything is plastic. The only upgrade I've done is to add full ball bearings.

Haha! Me too! ........Oh wait- I HAVE one!!!!

Your Blizzard looks good, Desmo. Was that full throttle in the video? It looked like about 12 mph; not bad for tracks!

I'll be using a Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster outrunner (1000kV) in my Blizzard, running on 4s LiPo. It's gonna move whether it wants to, or not! I hope nothing breaks... Speaking of which, how long have you been running your setup, and have you noticed any areas in particular that are showing wear? How do the drive chains hold up? The plastic drive cogs are the only thing I'm really worried about.

Thats not mine in that video. I'd have to say mine looks faster than that one but its hard to tell. The neo one is supposed to be 4800kv i think. I'll try it this winter on 3s and see how it goes. Nothing has shown much wear. The chains rust after a few runs, the chrome comes off the idlers(wheels) and you have to run the tracks tighter than you think they should be. I don't really have that much run time on it with the brushless set up. It doesn't snow much here. Have you installed ball bearings? it really helps it out. Its so light i think it will hold up just fine.

Oops! Must be Jason's? Or is it something he found on the website? Meh.

Yes, I do have the bearing kit installed.

Do any of you know the difference between the Blizzard EV and the Blizzard DF-300? They appear to be quite similar. I've done a bit of searching. It looks like the DF-300 is newer, but I can't find the actual differences.

Thanks.

Funny I just traded a 1/18 i pieces (to small to work on IMO) for a Blizzard EV.
Any thoughts if a Sidewinder paired with a 4600 on 3S would work ok or not ?

The DF-300 is just meant to look like a specific real-world model. http://www.kyoshoamerica.com/cars/in...part_num=30983 It's just like the Blizzard EP otherwise.
