Dead Lipo?

I have a zippy 5s 4000mah pack i just ran it and threw it on the charger all the cells but one were at 3.7v the odd one out was at 3v
I charged it at 4A but the same cell would only hold 3.8v when fully charged.

is this dead? im 2 seconds away from tearing apart my lipo and removing the cell

What charger do you have? 3v isnt too low, so you should be able to raise the voltage back upto 4.2v if you can balance charge the packs. Only balance charging will work though, not charging then balancing with a stand alone balancer...

I balance charged it using and Imax B5... then i even tried standard charging the cell would be 4v right off the charger then drop down to 3.75 after a minute or two with no load... i just removed the cell... not gonna risk damaging anything else

Good idea. Sounds like it was weakened. I would watch the other ones now just in case another follows suit...

I am surprised the charger allowed the others to take full charge while that one didn't.

Now what to do with a single 100A capable lipo cell


i almost scared myself shitless. i plugged in into the charger to check and didnt realize that voltage was 16.8v. and the charger kept saying cell error thinking it was a low 5s pack.

Wont get to run it today cuz its 4:45 and dark out
