The only 3S hard case Lipo that I think is up to the task of running a MMM combo is the Trakpower 3S 4900 packs.

Hmm the trakpower 3s 4900 mah is just Continuous Discharge Rate: 16C, 86.4A (not 100A or more) ????

I'll guess I won't get a better one (hmm would like these one, not in stock, Thunder Power TP5000-3SPR 5000mAh 3-Cell/3S 11.1V 40C 80C 200A)

No, the Trakpower 4900 is 25C continuous. The 5400 is 16C.

for less money you could buy a zippy 6s 5000mah 20c

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...0C_Lipoly_Pack

2 of those in parallel is 6s 10,000mah 40c! for $270

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUYY3&P=7

two of the hardcase in series is 6s 4900mah 25c for $340

the math speaks for itself.........

Not really...

The Zippy packs are not hard cased like he asked for. Also, the combined weight of 2 of those zippy packs is 3.4lbs while the pair of Trakpower 3S 4900's is 1.8lbs. That's a huge difference!

I do agree, there are many cheaper options...but not in a hard case.

I thought you DID double the C rating- surely each pack now can source the original C rating, and now there are two? MAh will be doubled, and voltage will stay the same? Maybe I need more sleep but the total power the packs can deliver will double (whereas in series the voltage doubles but the mAh and C rating is the same given the same load and no voltage sag).

no the current will double from the extra mah.

5000mah at 10c gives 50amps
10000mah at 10c gives 100amps.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Thank you. That makes sense. I knew it could handle twice the amp load, but the c rating would have to stay the same or it would quadruple! you schooled me!

No need to go back and forth about them anymore. They were shipped to a guy in Las Vegas last week. I now have no Trakpower packs at all.

Those will work well for you. The 2S Trakpower 4900's I had were excellent packs.
