Anyone have a Hacker C50 motor?

I agree with jhautz, If you want the finest in german engineering, get a lehner (I have several and love them). I have never tried a hacker, they look too much like a fiegao for me. I have tried a Plet (big Maxx) and I have nothing good to say about them...rotor demagnetizes every 15-20min. Plet would not cover under warranty, they blamed the MGM controller the first time, and blamed the MMM the second time. Lehner is somewhat better, took 5 months to get one replaced, but at least it was covered under warranty. Neus are great motors (I have regular and castle ones) and readily available, plus US service. But I would run all Lehners if they were cheaper, more avaible and had faster/better service.

Lehner is selling direct off their site now with BK out of the picture. A 1950 would cost a cool $500 though!

so i found the lehner site last night and was thinking that the 1950 was closest to a 1521. they look pretty sweet. the 1950 is the same length as the Castle 2200kv Neu - 74mm. anyway, the main reason i was wanting to get the larger motor is for weight distribution. i wanted to get one of these 6600 mah TP lipos http://www.robotmarketplace.com/prod...600-5S2PX.html and would need a heavier motor than a 1515 on the other side of the chassis to balance things better. my 5000mah does pretty good, usually 20-30 minutes but i went bashing with kulangflow and he was running 8000mah packs and wasnt halfway through is charge when my lipo was done. just thought it would be nice to have the longer run times but maybe i will just stick with the setup i have. other than more run time is sounds like not much would change. thanks guys for all your help.

anyone know how much the Castle 2200 weighs? the Neu 1515 finned weighs 12.7 oz or about 360g and the 1521 weighs 16.93 oz or 480g

You can still get them thru FineDesign for $335, but you never know when you might get it. The last 1940 I bought I placed the order and 5 months later I had almost totally forgotten about it(I did call a couple time during that 5 months just to check up on the order) All of the sudden I get a call on my voicemail telling me that he has the motor but if I dont call him back in a few hours he is going to sell it to someone else that wants it. I had payed him 5 months prior and he thought I didnt want it? WTF. That kind of crap is typical of that guy. Thats why I say I hate dealing with him. But... thats really the only realistic option to get one now days.

i got my 1515 from fine deisgn and it was here in 4 days! hackers are very good motors. the shafts are made way better than the neus are they are hardend you know how the pinion gear makes a ring mark on a neu shaft? not on a hacker.

Hacker shafts are hardened, that is for sure. I guess it is better, but harder does mean more brittle...

Especially if you get a hacker without a flat spot. And if your wife asks, say you're having trouble with your new hardened shaft!

I generally use the bench grinder to produce a flat area, so material is not really a concern. The harder steel does take a few passes to get to the desired depth...

on the hacker you really dont need a flat spot, its hard enough so that you can get a tight enough set screw to hold on to the round shaft
