I called Medusa this morning after reading how you have got mail notifications. I placed my order 10/16/08. I was told that my order for the 36-70-2000 was on top of the "to be shipped" pile and they are waiting for more of those motors to arrive. Will probably get mine after Christmas they say. Oh well.

Hey guys, I thought I would share this info. I tested for curiosity a Medusa 50mm 3300kv on 5S in my Losi 8T with high speed gearing. I was able to push it past 70 and the motor ran cool for about 8-10 passes of about 1000 feet so if you are wondering about the 70 or 80 cans I think you will have nothing to worry about!

It is usually the people that can not accomplish things that make these comments......

I guess I painted the 70mph on the radar when my Inferno GT on 4S went by!

Woohoo! My 36-80-1100 came in today! This motor's nice. Just wish it didn't have the cooling holes... Oh well. The flat spot along the entire length of the shaft sure is a nice touch.

Savage with extended FLM chassis (not their tranny-forward chassis), HV-110 and mechanical brakes, and 9s1p A123 for now. I might reconfigure some batteries or do something and get 10s1p, but that will be a little later.

@Metalman - That's going to be an awesome setup. I'm sure the 80mm can will deliver loads of power. I was wondering why you chose the lower kv.

I noticed in the 70mm length, Medusa offers kv options all the way down to 380kv.

I wonder what kind of torque that motor has?

We are talking Rock Crawler kind of torque.

I also wonder if the shaft comes out the back on the 70mm motors like it does on the 80mm ones?

Jeez, 380 is a super low kv! That would be great for direct-drive-to-diff if the motor had a suitable output on each end of the shaft.

Hey no fair!! I had to make my flat spot!

Good to see everyone is getting their motors. Metal, did yours also come with the extended shaft in the back?

It sure did, and even that slight bit of shaft has a flat spot on it.

Mine finally showed up! Got a 70 and 80mm @ 2000KV, they both have flat spots already on the shaft and a little shaft coming out the back.

EDIT: I'm too lazy to pull the 50mm out of my CRT .5 to put up a comparison photo. I guess I could get one of them sitting by my 1515...
