IMO that thing would top out at 50-55 with that motor and it would run hot. In order to hit 65 you'll need the bigger motor.

Where'd you get 50mph from? He says 65mph... 50mph is more realistic however

yea my buddy just put his 2d in his mbx5t cause of a broken shaft on his 1515, it runs good with just a little less torque, neu motors are beasts!

He says it verbally in the video.I over looked the the 65 mph in the info section

I ran a Feigao 380XL in a Revo trannied E-maxx on 14 cells for a season of unlimited monster class racing. It didn't burn. Gave nice, smooth power which was easily a match for the nitro trucks. Used to wheely when it hit 2nd too.

You can get away with smaller motors in large trucks, you've just got to have allowances for it, like the two speed.

The hvmaxx is technically 380XL... *dun dun dun*

So long as allowances are made, and head is screwed on, smaller motors can be used with much success. I'd still rather have a bigger, lower kv motor though on higher voltages, buts its all good...

LOL I use a vxl. It hauls and stays under 150*F after 20 min on 4s.

IMO its OK to use smaller motors if you have the right gearing.
