hyper7 conversion **pics** - 02.03.2009, 07:59 PM

started a thread in brushless but it should be here instead so, it's a hyper7, going to be running a mmm v1 with a bec just for giggles, a neu 1515 1y f for outright knock'em dead fun, rc-m motor mount, jr 8711 servo for overkill, need to order the batteries and battery mount from rc-m,waiting on my mod1 pinion and motor mount, just got the notification yesterday that it would be shipping, going to throw a slash body on it and call it good, just got the esc and neu from someone on RCC and the roller from ebay, a pic or 2 of my new to me toys

got the motor mount on today, I think I'm going to use the mech brake to assist tighter turning, one question though, have never had a spider center diff and I think the guy I got this from threw a bunch of parts together and put one of the diffs in backwards.........if that's possible I'm not sure, but spin the center diff and the fronts spin one way and the rears spin the other, full tear down time, I hate that......but I need to locktite everything anyway

Unless you're needing more or less than 6 volts for your servo or reciever, you dont need the CC BEC. The monster has one built in... oh, wait. nvm thats the V1. Still has a BEC, but they die prematurely... what you can do is call castle, and you should be able to trade in for the version 3.

Looks very nice kinda overkill on the servo. I use the 8711 in just about eveything.

did you cut your carbon fiber servo mount or did you buy that one? I'm getting ready to do the same conversion.

it hurt, but for just for a few seconds, it was the stock cf piece, I'm never going to go back to nitro so I just went for it, I cut it to the servo holes and smoothed it out on the belt sander

well, I just tried to power up the mmm/neu combo, no smoke but it would barely try to turn the motor over almost like it was programmed to use a brushed motor, and it cooked the plugs off the batteries in about 10 seconds after setup to the nomadio, not real happy at this point, only way I can test stuff is to unsolder the bullets off the motor and esc and run the 4mm stuff from a regular mm, I have 4 of them to use to test, pretty bummed out right about now:g rrrrrr:

well, it was on brushed mode like I thought, the castle link would not recognize the mmm, VISTA SUCKS, it's all good in the hood now, works killer, tested it in the driveway on 2s and it launches hard even on 2s, no top speed but I'm happy again, I was a little perturbed last night
