New flux broke rear turnbuckle would like to eliminate them. Options? - RC-Monster Forums

So after cartwheeling my new flux I ripped one of the end links out of the rear turnbuckles. I know on my e maxx I bought the true track conversion to get rid of the stupid turnbuckles what are my options on the flux. Sorry if its been asked before im a noob to the savage. Thanks.

I know it's Integy, and it sucks, but several others and myself have been using these without ANY major issues. There are some fitment issues sometimes, but once you get past that they work great.

Has anyone ever tired a truggy or other rear upright? The hellfire uses the same upper arms, but the hingepin is only 3mm. Integy is easiest, but hard to believe no one else ever came up w/ something.

Looks like the hellfire rear hub is flatter than the integy part, so a longer upper arm would be required to make it fit. Not sure if that would be a bad thing. A longer arm would reduce the amount of added negative camber during suspension compression. It may actualy add so pos camber, Not sure of the current geometry.

As far as options, the integy and atomic make one piece rear hubs. The atomic look a bit more solid, but I have not heard much on them. I plan to run the integy ones and see if they can handle the abuse...

I just looked at the HPI upgrade kit that MM mentioned and the atomic rear hub looks like a direct knock off... Maybe better than the integy? Looks a bit thicker. However the atomic does not list different #s for left and right, so I guess it is zero toe angle?

Couldn't a flat bar be made to replace the turnbuckle? Just gotta make sure the length is just right...

If the turnbuckle were the only part that broke, that would be a great fix. However, the knuckle arm also breaks, so using a rear upright eliminates both of those points of failure.

And of course, by going with the Integy rear uprights, you save weight since they weigh only half of the stock parts they replace (toe links, knuckles, hubs).

They do look like they'd be pretty solid, but also heavier than the Integy. And they use E-clips

...the HPI units come with toe-in built-in them too...

...The Atomics look OK...i would certainly consider them after a review...

I have the Atomics on order and I currently have a set of the Integy on the truck.
I dont usually buy anything Integy, but they were the only ones I could find at the time.
The atomics should be here early next week.
Does anyone have a link to HPI upgrade kit?

A common and easy mod is to join the knuckle and hub with an alu angle thingy. Easy to do.

I have the integy set, their nice but the hinge pins are very weak bent mine in one run so I put in the savage ones and just used spacers since their longer then the integys.

Here was my homemade lock pieces, worked and all but ugly lol

Old thread but I've been browsing the savage forum looking for ideas and came across these that are listed for the XL. I don't own the X only the XL but I thought they used the same carries. Why they have these listed for the XL and not the X I am not sure but just thought I would toss them out there. Looks like a copy of the Atomic ones that were mentioned earlier in the thread.

I got some alum uprights because of the plastic dog ears kept breaking off and on one them the inside bearing fit is really loose and that makes for a sloppy tire. I try to shim the outside of the bearing with alum duct tape which help a little for a little while. So.....

For those that own the atomic and integy ones mentioned in this thread. How do the bearing fit? Are they tight or do they have some slop in them?

Yeah, just a little. Now where Linc at? I fell for one of his RICKED links in an old thread. Funny at first but it got really irritating and now I have a dead cat stuck in the sheet rock!
