Finally found some time inbetween other jobs to make myself something. I managed to get a cheap LSP of the bay so its time for some custom.

£60 motor, another bargain, its a Neu 1515

quite proud of myself, I managed to cut the bearing hole on my rotary table and its a nice tight fit.

Im having the "center" diff at the back, I was thinging i'd have a really short rear prop shaft, but then decided to change the diff outdrive for a dogbone end and fit it direct to the rear diff. I turned a bit or steel down and bashed a couple of pins through, nice!

Already cut the chassis plate with the same dimentions as the original, and put the front kick up in. Now just lining everything up.



something like that, i'll be using the same 18 cell packs i have for my maxx.



I cut the rear diff cup down so i can get the center diff as close to it as possible.

yup, i have a little mini mill and lathe, and anymore bad mouthing my nimh's and i will cease posting pictures! :)

Great to see you posting again, CandyMan! That is some exceedingly sweet work there, as usual.

However...I don't think you're gonna get a single response without the word "LiPo" in it! Please keep posting pics as this is an amazing project...but also, please consider LiPo man. You would *not* regret it. Much less hassle than NiMH, and much more power.

Lipos = ideal birthday or xmas present, so wont cost you a penny...

I remember quite a while back when the original centerdiff conversion prototypes for the Gorillamaxx chassis' were being made, that there was talk of having the centerdiff mated directly to the front or rear diff just like how you've done it Candyman. Does make for a very tidy drive line, altough I forsee a custom length center dogbone being needed to take drive to the front wheels. Plan for that is..?

Hey Neil how you doing? Front shaft is indeed going to be about a foot long, I was going to get one made up, then I had a "what the hell am i doing" moment, im the candyman! I can make one! besides getting a dog bone made would require a cup each end, currently it has a cv joint at the gearbox end and I want to keep this.

Lipo-no no for me, no need, I can either get a set of 6s lipos and a charger and change the layout on my emaxx and this for them, or just use what I already have sitting here, 3 sets of 18 cell packs that are pretty good. Yes they are a bit heavier but they still propel my vehicles to silly speeds. Also with all you guys selling your nimh's off on ebay I can pick up a bargain! lol the last set of 18 matched cost me £45, thats $60 lol.

Now back to the action. This was a very hard bit to do, the alignment of the diff has to be spot on else it will bind, using a shaft allows for nearly almost angle, but being direct it has to mate perfectly. Getting it to stay in place whilst drilling the hols from underneath was hard but not impossible, now done ok. I also cut a slight recess in the chassis for the spur gear to sit in.



Top deck will be something like this, bit of a fancy long job but I wanted it to look cool, lus I really liked emaxlers chassis desing and wanted something similar and very symetrical
