Maxx Help needed -
05.04.2009, 04:25 AM
Hello crew, I need your help on selecting some maxx parts...
as some of you might know, I built a ton of maxx trucks, mostly for local bashers.
The thing is, I have been out of the maxx-loop for quite some time now, focusing on 8th scale cars and the odd revo or savage here and there.
One of my customers brought a maxx in for "repairs". He wants me to bulletproof his truck and add a more powerfull powerplant. The truck has all the upgrades, flm chassis, cvds and whatnot. However, it has this Integy knock-of UE suspension, and I want to get rid of this.
I thought about Flextek arms (they were the ticket back inna days) but I don't know what knuckles I should get for it. Pleasy advise me.
The guy said money is no issue. What would you get then? What are the best knuckles these days??
Thanks in advance
Daf

The Platinum Revo's are pretty much the best "plastic" ones. For aluminum, use whatever Plentenburg has on his ( http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15663)....I like the idea of the flextek arms - sounds like this guy has a nice set up already.

Not a bad price on those, considering you'd pay 70 to 80 for full set of RPM's.

I have the RD-Racing ones on my revo, they are the real deal.
Maybe I should try to get them for this guys maxx... I use sliders on my revo, wonder how the 8mm axle thing work with the cvds this guy is running ATM.... need to get the axles and hex-hubs as well I guess. Or is there another solution for axles to use with the RD knucks?? Or just use 6mm bearings and his existing MIP cvds?? What wud you do?

Just have him use 6x16x5mm (instead of 8x16x5mm) bearings on his RD knuckles so he can use his current cvds.

Dafni, if it's the type 3 suspension, Coolhand _Country had a sety and thought they were plenty good, I think it was the only good endorsement integy ever got for a rc car part, I like their hex wrenches. But Country bent a gorillamaxx chassis with them, you might want to PM him and see if they are worth keeping
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
