I agree. It would be nice to have some sort of catastrophic failure prevention, but how is a fuse to know if the current being pulled is "bad" (ESC failure) or simply a motor? After all, the currents are about the same.

Fuses are not likely to work here. Any fuse has internal resistance, say 1mΩ, that's really a tiny resistance, but under 100A current(pretty normal for RC app) this tiny resistance generates 10W heat!

probably on a seperate circuit board im guessing - i think that one is just the brains no fets on it either. (im not good at recognizing components though, probably does have fets and i just think they look different :p)

Might be on the other side of the PCB.

Yeah, the sensor connector is on the main FET board - -the picture is just of the "brain" board (we call it the "control" board.)

Patrick - love the 6S capability on the mamba pro. What about a waterproof ESC for our traxxas vehicles? Seems that more and more of their products are going that way and the Velineon is close to waterproof and they are saying it will be in thier catalog. That said you make much better ESC's and motors.

We are talking about laying out a much much smaller version for the guys who are always asking for a smaller controller for competition.

It would be harder to build, and more expensive... But we could get rid of the heat sink, use an external cap, etc -- and make something really small for the racers.

What do you think?
Pdelcast, I am very intrested in a 6s capable esc for mini's, I have been planning a mini e-revo and the best i can do is use a quark 33 amp at 5s. Like most wanting the 8s and 12 s mamba monsters, I am after efficiency, cool running and runtime maximized. I currently have a rc10 GT stadium truck converted to electric, running a quark 80 esc with a lehner 1200XL basic (1200kv), I am limited to 5s lipo because the quark's known hit and miss 6s capability. Suffice it to say, I would love to have an esc for my G E-gt that doesn't need a UBEC to operate. Not to mention there isn't a lot of room on the Mini E-revo for a external BEC

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Seriously,I am considering to sell all my 7.4V system on my 1/10 vehicles and switch them all to 22.2V with low KV motors. What I've been longed for and finally I saw the dawn. I thinking it was kinda stupid getting 700W power by 7V x 100A instead of 20V x 35A, especially when high volt Li based batteries have been so practically convinient to use.

on the fuse request dont do it, i had that on one of my futaba esc's back in the day and it just continously got on my tits with the fuse plastic melting and having a dodgy connection that kept disconnecting my battery.

on an other note some sort of current limiting would be a nice feature as im sure it could save some escs when things go wrong and has other benefits in smoothing the power delivery.

Has anybody heard anything new about the MM Pro? Like when it's getting released to the masses?
