New Turnigy stuff at hobbycity

As the usual hobbycity spokesperson, I feel obliged to point out the new stuff at hobby city. I logged in, clicked on new products, and found a page filled with turnigy lipos. They are even cheaper then flightmax packs. A 6s1p 25c 5000mah pack is only $85 as the flightmax equivalent is $100.

The highest c rating on the packs is 25c,,, There are 3,4,5, and 6s 5000mah packs. The 3s is $43, $56, $75, $85 for 6s.... There is also a 3s 5000mah 15c pack for under $35. wow.

A polyquest Pack is new to that I'm excited about. It's the 1600mah 2s pack. It's the best pack for the vendetta series if you're into that kind of thing...

I really like the ginormaous fans on both Motor and ESC.

I do like the prices on Zippy packs. And the prices go down down down as you buy more from them and climb up there ladder of points system.

Hmm. The motor is a 9T eh? Must be a 2 poler considering the kv spec. It has the same physical length of an XL motor, but a 7T XL has a kv of 2380, while this motor has almost the same kv at 9T. That means the coils must be a tad shorter than a Feigao XL.

I would guess zippy quality on the batteries but I'm not sure. No one has tried them yet.

You may be talking about those "Tenergy" Nimhs that are total crap. Turnigy is a different brand.

But the Zippy, Rhino, Flightmaxx packs are all good batteries. Keep the temps down and they'll push and last!

The Turnigy packs look like repacked lower C Flightmax packs to me.

So the motor will perform as well as a feigao xl, with slightly less torque. Good for a buggy, but not as good as the castle system. I will stick to MMM escs and the 2200 motors when they will fit the kv requirements, or go with neu motors otherwise.

I bet you could squeeze out 40mph with a 3 speed. Might want to get some bigger fans though...

I've read about those EZrun ESC's, and the 150A on seems like an extremely good deal.
If I had a roller, I'd buy the EZrun 150A and a Neu motor.

The motor in the kit is not so good though, I wouldn't go over 40k RPM because I've read the rotor cracks if reved higher.

And that ESC looks exactly like the EZrun 150A. Exactly the same specs to, I would be verry surprised if it isn't the same one.


I hope they'll sell the ESC separatly :p!
