Which to include in a Slayer Auction - NEU 1515 1y or Hacker B50 13L? - 06.07.2009, 11:29 PM

The setup is a Slayer Conversion with a Mamba Max and CC BEC. So 4s is what I have been running it on and will advertise it being 4s capable.

Which motor to include in the listing......

A) Neu 1515 1y 2200KV

or

B) Hacker B50 13L 1875KV (Close enough on the KV)

or

C) Neither - Sell as a roller

The debate that been going on in my head trying to decide goes something like this...

The NEU performs better on 4s then the Hacker does. Better motor based on KV for 4s.

The Hacker is a nice motor but I don't have any use for it right now. Mainly because I haven't broken down and gotten any esc that are capable of more then 4s.

I probably will not get what the NEU is worth if I include it in the auction either. Proably will not get what the hacker is worth either.

The NEU motor probably will be a better selling point for the auction. Seems to be more poplular in the states. Hacker isn't as well known unless you've been hanging out around you hackers at RCM. The Neu might bring a higer bid then the hacker.

I could put the Neu back into the FLM Maxx now that the Novak HV ESC thinks the Novaks 4.5 rotor is permanently stuck. Again.

Some of the bidders may not even realize the hackers KV would be better off on 5s. Don't want to deceive any one though on it performance on 4s.

The Hackers color is pretty cool. Different then the KD and KB motors. Might be a good motor for the Savage XL conversion on 5s. If I ever do the conversion. It's the lowest KV motor I got. Would need it when I finally do go higher then 5s.

Maybe I should just keep the slayer and put the revo arms I have on it and make it a basher............ It really isn't that much fun to bash with as is.

Would you choose the one that is the best for the setup, the one you don't use, or the one that might get you the most money?

Which motor would you include in the sale?

Knowing what you paid for the hacker sell it with the slayer. It is not enough motor for a MT. Keep the neu. Or sell it in its own auction. Sell your truck as a roller, and sell the electronics separately, more money that way.

I have to agree with James on this one. Just sell your roller and hang on to the electronics. You can use them in a futur project or sell them seperately if you need the $$$. I hate letting go of good equipment when I know it may come in handy at a later date.

J and J you guys are right again. The voices of reason (sometimes lol) help settle me down. I got carried away with a complete package thought. Including the nitro engine and all the electronics is something I probably would buy if I was just getting into either nitro or brushless. If it was almost free that is. People are looking for the inexpensive good buys. The more I add to the package the higher the reserve would be and less bids Glad I threw this thread out there. Can always count our fellow rcm brothers for different views.

Hey Riley, I've been lurking lately. I usually log in eveyday and do a quick scan, but by that time all the right anwers have been give and all the good one liners have already been posted by James. Once spring sprung up here. I started grappeling with the darkside of Nitro's again. Have just about got my Savage XL tuned in, more durable, and more fun then frustrating. Nitros a whole different challenge then brushless for me. I will be doing more brushless project toward the end of summer. You decided on what's next up for you?

Yea with the economy going the way it is, and with money being so tight for everyone right now better off keeping things simple from the get go, and let them request options from you. That will make it a much easier sale for sure, and if you still need money or just want to get rid of stuff then post them individually. Unless of courese you plan on going for a very cheap price and giving away a bunch of really good gear for free. In that case just let me know and I will be happy to take them off of your hands for you. I am sure that I can find some place to use your Hacker and that Neu motor.

Most of the other RC's I've let go cheap or traded I didn't feel bad about losing money or even down trading for a lesser rc/project, but for some reason I would like all my money back on this one. Except for the cost of a TRX 3.3 engine. lol I felt cheated in a way after I paid what I did for it. Expected something better for that kind of money. The resale of these Slayers is pretty low (go figure). If I wasn't trying to get as much $ back out of it. This would be the first place I would offer it up for next to nothing or a trade for different project. I am going through the shop and seeing what I don't need or plan on using. Might be something in there for you Jerry.

Well thanks for thinking of me Gee. I am always open to a good deal if it is something that I really need or can use for the boys trucks. They did a good job building up their projects, and have had them out a few times bashing around. Nothing major broken yet, but one of the trucks is missing the rear body posts. I just never got any, and money is being held up for some other special projects (of mine), so he is using duct tape for now.

Shaun - 06.08.2009, 06:16 PM

Yea it is a little bit too quiet without Shaun stopping in from time to time. He has presented a lot of very cool builds/projects for us to marvel at and learn from. Plus he always had a lot of good input for people looking for info. I do hope that he is ok. Going through a divorce can be a very painful thing, especially if it is not amicable and without malice. It would be nice to see him back in here.
