i know having toe in increases straight line ability, so will having positive 2 toe out decrease the speed just a little bit?
what you guys think

yes. its more friction on the drivetrain with the wheels pulling against each other.

^ +1. Increases stability at the cost of increased drag. On dirt it's no big deal since stability is more important than top speed, but on-road is a different story. Rear toe-in does the same thing. If doing just speed runs, decrease toe-in/out as much as possible for the least amount of drag.

I run my buggy and truggy with a slight toe out. It makes the front end handling much more stable I find. It will theoretically reduce top speed but on an offroad track (if thats where you are running) you would probably never notice it.

Edit:

Brian beat me to it, but you get the point anyway.

ahh so it does huh. yea i was thinking it might since the front tires are pointing away and causing some drag. but i just realized that i had my two front tires toe out because it was much more stable, and i felt it helped with straight line ability too.
i wish i could adjust my front tires for some toe in so i can see how much faster it can go, but i remember i had a heck of a time making my truck track straight when i messed around with the toe in/out. do you guys think it will effect any more than 5 mph. my truck goes 48

EFFECTS OF TOE ADJUSTMENT

FRONT TOE
Increasing (more toe-in)
• Makes car easier to drive

Decreasing (less toe-in, or more toe-out)
• Decreases understeer
• Increases steering at corner entry
• Faster steering response
• Less stable under acceleration
• Makes car more diffi cult to drive

REAR TOE
Increasing (more toe-in)
• Increases understeer
• More stable exiting on-power at corner exit and braking
• Less chance of losing rear traction
• Decreases top speed
Decreasing (less toe-in)
• Less stable at on-power corner exit and braking
• More chance of losing rear traction
• Increases top speed

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

I would think 2-3mph max in that speed range

Here is a little extra info from my laymans way of looking at things....

Hope this helps

Heath

I would recommend only playing with front toe first before moving onto rear toe. While camber in effect is your key to optimal traction toe in effect is the key to optimal handling(Very basic overall view but not all inclusive) . Toe is everything when it comes to dialing in your car for turns once you are hooking up! Proper TOE will have a huge effect on ability to control the car when things get hairy…. The more TOE-IN the more stable-planted the veh will feel both front and rear…. When you start to think of separate adjustments just remember front TOE is for corner entry adjustments and rear TOE is for corner exit adjustments. Remember this does cause drag and will cause abnormal tire wear as well on the outer most corners of the tires when TOE-IN and visa versa…. If overly exaggerated this will destroy foams with easy chunking and rubbers by breaking glues seals like butter!

Front TOE-IN will help bump steer, cause a loss of steering feel while improving tracking, and can be used to counteract over steer in corner entry….. Front TOE-OUT will increase bump steer, increase steering feel while deteriorating tracking, and can be used to counteract under steer in corner entry.

Rear TOE-IN will help keep your rear down in bumps, Cause a loss in steering feel while improving tracking, and will help counteract under steer in corner exit….. Rear TOE-OUT will increase rear bounce, increase steering feel and deteriorating tracking, and will help counteract over steer in corner exit…..
