How hard is it to find connectors for a 2x 2s-4s balance adapter?!?!?? - 06.11.2009, 12:57 AM

I need a source to get jst/xh male and female plugs. 3-pin and 5-pin. Where the hell are they at? I've looked all night and talked to owners of multiple online stores... nothing. Any help?

I want to split a 4s lipo and get balance plugs for the 2 2s packs then make an adapter so I can balance them together.

There's a 2x 3s-6s adapter on hobbycity, but if I buy that I'll end up placing a $50.

HELP!

i've been looking for the same thing. good luck. i searched around for a while with no luck.

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.

I bought alot of these off ebay. Balance connectors for 2s, 3s and 4s.

I recently ordered 20 3pin 2S lipo balance connectors for like less than $4 (plus shipping)?

Just search "lipo balance connector" or simply "lipo balance" at Ebay.

i just make them...

I've made a 2p board - Wired together 2 of the 2-6s boards so that you can connect up any parallel pair.

Also made a couple of 2 x 2s = 4s adapters.

All you need to to buy is 2 female 2s XH and 1 male 4s XH...

Get the connectors and pins from digikey. Not expensive, but they do have a minimum order qty of 10 and would require a cheap crimper to make the connections to the wires.

3 position plug 455-2219-ND
5 position plug 455-2268-ND
3 position socket 455-2231-ND
5 position socket 455-2270-ND
Pins x 100 455-1135-1-ND

Male (pack side) XH on this page : http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/mai...ctors&scat=ALN

Looks like they may carry the female connectors as well, give them a call or drop them an email... They have always treated me well, this is where I get all of my pack building supplies.

I emailed them,, they said the didn't carry them. Asked if they could make the adapter for me,,, didn't respond.

I like the ebay links, I searched for jst-xh 2.5mm and came up with nothing,, guess I had to be less specific.

Thanks for all your help guys! If you find a better deal or an easier place to get them let me know.

That's exactly what I need, although it's a little spendy... $15 shipped..

I'll see if I can get mike to start carrying this.

One go around the block with adapters, charger plugs, differring cell counts and differing taps forced me to look for only one particular adapter. When that failed the second go around the block forced me to get many cheap wires, adapters, boards so that I can do nearly anything I want from now on.

The balance boards really are nice since that eliminates the cell count from the problem and there are only 4 different taps.

Here's what I did in a nutshell:

establish your max cell count.
find charger to match cell count and get adapters to all boards that fits said charger.
Any battery pack up to max cell count can be done on said set-up.

It may not be quite that simple as it sounds, the charger's or balancer's plug and number of pins is a lot of times what is difficult. Identification is half the battle.

I kinda like balancers like the Blinky or CommonSenseRC style; they just have pins that are spaced the same as everything other than TP, so it doesn't matter connector is used. For my LBA10, I made an adaptor with a pinned connector at the other end.
