Comparison pics of E-Revo VXL ... - 06.22.2009, 07:13 PM

I've seen a few requests for comparison pics to get a better idea of the size of the new E-Revo VXL. I brought out a few of his brothers for a quick photo-shoot.

Top Row:
1/6: Nylint Crawler
1/8: Kyosho brushless buggy
1/10: E-Revo brushless
1/10: Losi Comp Crawler

Bottom Row:

1/16: Duratrax Vendetta ST brushless
1/18: Losi Mini Crawler
1/18: Associated RC18b
1/18: HPI Micro RS4
1/24: XMods Titan
1/36: Losi Micro DT

Nice pics. At my local HS I saw the 1/16 slash this past weekend, but I missed seeing the Revo by 10 min.

Thanks. That just confirmed my want of a 1/12 over the Revo VXL that much more. I'm not 100% sure that I'm getting a Hyper STe before I get a E Revo VXL 1/16.

Did you mean "not" or "now"?

I would get an STe before the E-Revo VXL, but then I would also get the E-Revo VXL.

I just GPS'd it on a 3s Zippy 1600 pack with the 23t pinion: 47.6mph. Not bad!

I EagleTree'd the run too. I'll upload the data in a bit.

Clickable thumbnails for larger pics:

Motor temp
Max - 148
Min - 85.5
Avg - 118.56
Amps
Max - 65.45
Min - 0
Avg - 4.88
Volts
Max - 12.66
Min - 9.82
Avg - 11.52

I was doing speed runs for most of it. I did some full throttle grass running toward the end, which is what really brought the high amps and the temps up on the motor. The battery still had life in it, but I was ready to come in after about 20 minutes because of the heat.

Hows the truck holding up? Are the diffs still smooth after some good 3s runs?

I did a bit of analysis on the Eagle Tree data.

This Zippy pack is rated 20C-30C, 1600 mAh.

At data points where the current was 32A (20C) the voltage points averaged out to 3.6V/cell.

At data points where the current was 48A (30C) the voltage points averaged out to 3.4V/cell.

Most of these data points were collected during the latter half of the run where the battery voltage was already dropping from use.

When I get more of these packs in from HobbyCity, I'll be running them in parallel. It looks like I'll have more than enough headroom.
