E-revo top speed record 91.2mph *vid* - 06.27.2009, 06:06 PM

Hi guys,

Some of you may remember me asking some questions about setup for brushless....

Me and my bashing buddy are always doing speed runs with our RC, and after a couple of speed runs test, trying setup etc..

We were able to get 91.2mph, we are still working on it.

Heres the video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP17Bg40cso

I tought some of you would like to see the vid. :)

We used a MMM esc V3 , Neu 1515 1.5d on 6S.

:)

Thx for watching!

Nice one - The bushnell though is much more accurate that the garmin - You get alot of interpolation errors with a GPS over that distance

I was way too far from the "line" of the revo to get an accurate reading, it go way too fast now, too dangerous.

I have like 10 pass on video where we can see the GPS and radar show the same when wew were getting in the high 75mph, when we improved the setup i no longer waited in middle of the road with the radar lol

And i lost signal fast with the radar when the revo is still accelerating, when the revo pass in front of me my friend is at 3/4 throttle to give an idea...

:)

Thx !

Paralyzed, you can go see my video of the mini revo 1/16 at 66mph, you can see the radar vs GPS... if that can help.

Other than that, i can only suggest you to come here and see by yourself,

Looks fast as hell to me. Congrats one way or the other. You ever hook up an ET to that?

The trick with the radar is to point it where the revo will be going the fastest, and keep it very steady. I have the same unit and have used it radar all kinda of stuff. For 80 bucks it is a great deal. Nice to see you have backup with the gps. The revo looks well setup, and I would say it is doing what the gps and radar say. I have run some fast rcs and it seems in line with them. I would like to see it in person, a 1.5d on 6s is cranking out some power. I ran my 1.5d on 4s and it would easily get my revo over 60... My tires were getting a bit out of hand at that speed (taped and balanced badlands on beadlocks).

Seeing stuff like this makes me want to get back into speed runs again...

I dont have access to a speed trap, best thing i can do is bring the GPS in my real car and compare the speed in a video.

I can try to have a better reading on the radar but it is very dangerous.

Heres a previous video when we crashed it, it was still accelerating, but loosed control.
The radar update speed faster than the GPS as some may know, we got 84mph on the radar and 81.9mph on GPS.

Thank you sir!,
I thought adding the GPS would be enought ...

The radar was just out of range, and i was like 15 feet away from its line"
you own that radar so you know it greatly affect the speed reading, i was just gunnin at it for fun, i knew it wouldnt read right, i should have just not use it..... seem to create lot of confusion lol

I will try to put the radar on side of the road on a packge box so it wont damage too much if something happen.

Vassmar used the radar in the box trick on his TC4 runs

After using the same 1.5/MMM/6S combo in my Rustler I have little doubt 90mph is very plausible - even for a Revo! There's always going to be questions raised unless you use an optic speed trap. The ROSSA event in the UK would be an excellent opportunity to "officiate" the speed

Over_revo, it's always very nice watching your speed runs...wish I had road like that!!
