Anyone from Perth, Australia? - 05.01.2009, 10:29 PM

We'll be going to Perth in July and I would like to know if there are any tracks out there. There are some guys onboard the ship that would like to do a friendly race with the locals when we get there in a couple of months.

Yep I'm from Perth. There's a few other guys here with brushless truggies that I know (not all of them post much) mxracer, SV6000, Nissanmania, maxd out, plus at least 7 other guys that I have raced brushless truggies with. Usually 5-7 on a race day.
Unfortunately July is our winter so there isn't as much racing happening and the most regularly raced at truggy track closes for a couple of months in winter.
Here's the sites for a few of the tracks:
West Coast Model Rally Club Our usual track. It's on Friday nights and is meant to be 1/10th electric only, but we've managed to get them to let us (only just) keep racing truggies after gradually moving up from E-maxxes.
Carine Remote Model Car Club Doesn't have many members any more and therefore not much regular racing, but still a fun track and isn't affected by the rain as much as some tracks, so more chance of racing in winter. Nissanmania would be the one to talk to about have a race day here, because it's run by him and a couple of other volunteers.
Radio Rally Club They have a temporary track setup on grass. It's a 1/8th nitro club, but a least 4 of us are going to race our brushless truggies there tomorrow for the first time, so we'll see how it goes.
Model Off-Road Buggy Club Mostly a 1/8th nitro track. I've been to a few practice days on the old track lay out, and have been meaning to go there again. I know a guy with a brushless ST-RR who is a member there this year. I should get around to finding out how it's going for him.

Patrick and Jordan, great to hear from both of you. I guess it's too bad that the tracks are close during the winter.

Patrick, those are nice tracks. I'm not sure where the ship will be docked but it has to be something that can accommodate an aircraft carrier. I'll be taking my brushless ST RR with me for this deployment and probably my race revo too. Well see. Again, many thanks for the information.

If you've got time to burn you could check these guy's out tohttp://www.australianspeedway.com/1-...intcar-videos/
Its just near a go-kart track
http://www.kartshop.com.au/
and a moto x track (sorry i don't know the website) and a drag strip
http://www.motorplex.com.au

I don't follow these much so I can't tell you what's a good night to go but it may be a good time filler.

I'll definitely go ride a kart when we get there. AU$20 for 10 minutes is cheap. Thanks for the information.

We'll be docking in Fremantle so I'm not sure how close are we to those tracks. Thanks for the help.

Yeah let us know the dates once you can, so we can work out what racing will be happening. We might be going to a track 4.5 hours drive away on the 11th and 12th. Our usual electric track is closed for winter (winters not that bad here, but the clay track doesn't drain at all, just turns to mud)

,

The two 1/8th tracks only race every second week, and the Carine track which is run by Nissanmania and two other guys doesn't, have a race calendar, just whenever works.

Don't know how you'll be getting around, but if your in Fremantle harbor, then the Radio Rally Club grass track is about 35mins away, Carine track (near where I live) is ~45mins, and Model Off Road Buggy Club (other 1/8th nitro track, we've only had 1 race day there) is almost an hour away.

Tour sounds interesting if the times right. I went on one that docked here maybe 12 years ago, but only remember parts of it since I was still in primary school.
So, you didn't bring the revo either?
