VXl LVC issue - 07.06.2009, 10:24 AM

i have a vxl with what appears to be a bad LVC. she will run for a few minutes then stutter and conk out. im running NMhd batts so the LVC is not needed. after it stops it resets the ESC to have the lvc on and i cant set it to have it shut off. is there any way to disconnect the LVC so it never comes on? or should i just bite the bullet and spend the $45 to have to replaced/repaired by traxxas? i have replaced all connectors.

Weird.

Sounds like it is possesed- shouldnt be turning itself off then reseting with the lvc turned on. I think the lvc is part of the actual pcb, rather than a seperate entity inside the esc, so removing or disabling it is probably impossible. I would rather replace the esc with an MM, but $45 to have it repaired makes more sense financially. If it was faulty like that though, wouldnt they repair it for free as a warrenty issue (unless its over 12 months old)?

30 days is their warranty period and its only $20 sorry the $40 is if i had replaced the traxxas connector with another brand.

i guess its going in. they will probably just replace it (thats what the traxxas man said)
