1515 1y chinese cc neu motor vrs real american made neu motor

This has probably been touched on but is there a difference in power output between the 2. I know there is some diferences on how they are built but is one motor considerably better made or better materials than the other or last longer or possibly more efficient. I am getting one or the other for my silverback build but not sure which one yet. If I get a new traxxas one off ebay I wonder if it would still be under warranty.

there is only a slight amount of difference between the two, but not enough to offset the cost difference.

just get the cc neu.

A motor with windings in delta configuration gives low torque at low rpm, but can give higher top rpm. Wye configuration gives high torque at low rpm, but not as high top rpm.

The last letter f/s is the type of can: f = finned. s = smooth can

I'd go for the castle Neu aswell- the power output difference & efficiency varience is minor at best, barely noticeable during normal use.

Yeah my vote is for the CC Neu considering the price difference and the fact that the CC Neu is alittle better suited to ground use.

I don't know why Neu hasn't made geniune Neu's that are terrain specific like the CC models. CC just has to come out with a 1500 - 1700Kv. unit for 5-6s lipo. IMO, they should never have had the 2650Kv... kinda useless for most of us, even buggies.

+1 Dont know what CC is waiting for. They are missing the boat IMO.

i've got 2 neu 1515 1y's and 2 castle neu 2200's and i can say categorically the 1515 1y's run a good 20 degrees cooler on a consistant basis. the power/speed is identical imo

DwightSchrute, good point. This should be noted by everyone, that just a few point in efficiency percentile will make a drastic difference in running temperatures... even though they have seemingly the same power.

Isnt that because of the internal fans. Which the cc dont have

My "reaL" neu has always run cool. I do not think it has an internal fan.

I dont believe that. My Neu is in a Tekno motor mount with a rear endbell cover. Its sealed up and I noticed the change in temps on the same setup.
