Crunching sound when full throttle & brake hard? - 08.13.2009, 12:27 PM

hi,

i just convert my friend's Losi8T Version 1 using Losi conversion.

Test run the car it gave out a crunching sound when full throttle & hard brake.

When low speed its ok. May I know what went wrong before I strip the car? The race is this sun & I still have another car to test?

Pls help thxs!

spelling and grammar help.

check your gear mesh

I would say check the diffs but since it is happening under acceleration AND braking- it would mean that both diffs are not shimmed correctly-very unlikely.

Check your main motor gear mesh.

Also, check to see if shimming the center diff bevel gears will help.

most likely stripped pinion/bevel gear with metal pieces flying in the diff case. did happen to me in my mugen (diff was over a year old).

Wow samething with mine. mmm 2200kv Only at acclerating an braking i checked diffs an there all good. No metal flakes. The local hobby shop said thats normal wit electric conversion. Not sure that noise is scary.

What car are you driving? Losi8T is plastic spur should not have sound.

Mine CRT is metal gear but not crunching sound.

Spur gear chipping off teeth, if it's plastic. Otherwise you need to tear apart your drivetrain and find the weak link.

the quicker way to do this is to hold wot and drop the truck onto carpet. that will find the weak point really quicklyy
