Well I have to say I like the battery tray and the wire holder on the rear chassis brace. I'm sure HPI will sells of them !

looks good, is the motor mount adjustable?

Few other observatons- I like the esc mounting on the car, and wire routing clips built in.
I also like the adjustable battery trays. thats a first
Why put a heatsink on an already finned motor?

Optional parts- 22t pinion, 46t spur, 2650kv motor and 6s lipo....wait a minute. that sounds really fishy..

Why cant manufacturer's create and rate there products with down to earth setups..

Naughty CC should call them on that 2650kv is only rated to 4s...

PS I believe it will take it though - I used to run mine on 5s until castle said no...

it takes a while for them to realize that offroad vehicle going 40+ mph is very hard to control making it almost useless except speed runs.

sad thing is that racing part of HPI - Hot bodies make plastic car and HPI makes standard D8 conversion.

and they say "4000mah minumum" for nimh's

i thought it said no nimh or stick packs or tamiya connectors and no adapters...

you would be suprised what can racing NIMH packs survive :)

used to run in my Neu powered max 16 racing NIMH cells and they did quite well (before they exploded after 3 months of heavy running without much rest after run I put them on charger @ 5.5Amps, 4-5 cycles in one afternoon )

I thought I read on rccaraction.com that the buggy came with the 2200kv motor.

It does, but what HPI have said is that it'll do 'x' mph with the following optional parts, which in this case is 6S and the 2650kV motor.

Wow good eyes, I did not see that until you pointed that out in the fine print. I had read over what it comes with on rc car action, but had not looked closely at HPI's stuff. I hope Castle slaps them on the head for that one, it is stuff like that which will cause headaches down the road. People buying the 2650 motor and running it on 6s then wanting it to be covered when it goes poof.

Yeah, I totally agree. Any noob will buy that and say 'well HPI reckon that I can do x mph by overgearing a motor and running on too high a voltage. I'll go for that!'

I think it'll come back to haunt HPI.

I don't think CC cares in the long run because my understanding is that since it is branded as HPI components that HPI handles all the servicing on them.

I don't see why they need to recommend the 2650kV motor to reach higher speeds. Why not just run the 2200kV on 6s and gear taller. The 2200kV on 6s should have more than enough power to push a relatively light (relative to a truggy or MT) buggy to insane speeds without consuming as much current or spin at catastrophic rpms. Unless their motor mount doesn't allow for a larger tooth count pinion and you're limited to pinion size.
