The diff of the GS CL1 pro advanced and diffs are no fit for the GS Storm. The GS storm is an old type from GS used now for RTR kits. And as with all GS extremely good quality for the price. The drivetrain of a GS Storm is of the traditional type. The GS CL1 pro advanced has a completely different drivetrain (9tooth on 38 crowngear in front/rear diff) and extremely small diffhousing. It is a tank for racing with a quite extreme accelaration compared to other buggies. I will now switch to a GS CLX for nitro. I have to do nitro because there is still no serious racing scene for brushless in Holland, Belgium and Germany. For now the CL1 pro advanced is the perfect donor for my brushless conversion. I have my spareparts and it is a perfect shape for running great for many more years.
The CLX is the new one of GS, a type more like in the actual trend of the XB808/Losi 8ight/MP9/MBX6 (everybody seems to study the great losi 8ight, so with a more narrow chassis. For quality however I have noticed at more experienced racers that the CLX is likewise the GS CL1 advanced pro a tank. Very underrated in my opinion. In countries where there is not a real sponsored race scene like the US with Kyosho, Losi and AE with sponsoring the topdrivers the GS CL1 pro advanced still is quite dominating and the CLX now even more on top. Also there run losi's, kyosho's, AE RC8 etc etc.....
The holes on the downside for attaching to the chassis are also more close from one to ot each other. 20.3 mm from heart to heart. A mount of a Losi 8ight does fit but rises up the diff to much and the GS has wider bearings. I have modded one yesterday for making a direkt fit for the GS bearings. That worked. But I don not like that the diff gets lifted up to much. I want to keep the gravity as low as possible.
I still prefer a direkt fit original RC-monster motormount because of the lower heigth - gravity matters!
Thanks in advance for all comments.
