Even with plenty of up front weight it was difficult to drive over 60mph. Plus I think it is a poor design, all the way thru. An electric rustler is a better platform to start with.

I doubt that traxxas will do a 2 speed setup in an ejato. Plus if they retained the current tranny it would be a mid motor setup. And even a race prepped .12 does not have half the low end torque that a decent brushless setup does. I ran a 7s feigao 540 and 3s and the jato just could not handle the power. I could not imagine a 1512 jato, plus the tranny would be toast with decent grippy tires.
I guess i got lucky, i never had any troubles with my jato

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Yeah, the nitro ones do not seem to suffer as much as a converted one. Just like anything else, a good basher can really up the beating when going to BL power! I just see the jato as not the best traxxas design out there.

I do like the pedes! I have 3 or 4. My favorite 2wd bashers!

It's funny to hear the Jato not being durable, my e-jato has proven to be my most durable basher. Oh, I've bent upper links and broken a rear shock tower or two, but that's nowhere near the damage I'd get from bashing anything else I have. Of course, I'm only running a CC4600/MM on 3s, so there's not a whole lot of power, but still plenty enough to break the tires loose even geared for ~45 mph.

And I think the wobble in reverse has more to do with the toe out on the front tires than any design issue.

I had 2 nitro Jatos and hated them. The A arms are weak, the top plate breaks if you give it a stern talking to, the tranny is a PoS, shock towers break easily...not a bashers RC. I like the Taco Bell analogy someone used earlier, it's so true. I'm not losing any sleep wondering what Traxxas will release, the news will be all over the forums on Thursday and I'll check in then to see what it really is.

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

My guess is a mini Summit. It seems like the two things TRX is focused on (mini and Revo platform). The locking diffs would be a challenge but who knows they might just carry over a name. The mini "Slash" is a Revo based 4wd thus making it more of a mini E-Slayer.

Hey guys I figured out what it is... I found the source code for the video its
images/homepage/272x180_slash_slayer/272x180_slash_slayer.swf'
Basically its a 4wd slash or a E-slayer, Basically work with that code.. Seems like traxxas isn't smart enough to have a "Code name", I don't think TRX can get any smarter

Great, probably yet another vehicle based on either the erevo or the ancient crappy pede tranny...

Something "new" would be great. But, do you guys really think TRX (who specializes in RTR beginner vehicles) would come out with something for the serious racer?

Nope.

The guys at BYT already explained thats just the advert for the slash & slayer further down the page- look at the dimensions for that code you posted- 272x180 pixels is tiny, the video is more like ~800x 600 pixels.

Not to worry though, all will be revealed shortly...

GO TO BED

Be advised that we're not flipping the switch on this bad boy until 3pm central time tomorrow (4pm for those of you on the east coast, 1pm for those of you on the west coast).

So, no reveal at midnight! Can't wait to blow your minds tomorrow afternoon though...
I figure they would have given it away by opening a section for the new vehicle on their/traxxas forum

I wouldnt be surprised if it was a "buggy" I mean plenty of you were putting SC bodies on buggies so why not put a buggy body on a slayer or a slayer with an e revo chassis
