Lipo charging question - 10.11.2009, 09:47 PM

I was out on HobbyKing looking at lipos and something struck me odd. For 3s 3500+ batterys, they say to charge at 2C. It was my thought that you charge according to the Mah of your pack. The Zippys that I have, or rather the zippy, a guy a the local track I used to visit boosted one of them, is a 3500 3s and I charge it at 3.5. I am doing something wrong or is the website off?

Most li-po will say to charge at 1c unless otherwise noted on the pack. Zippies are to be charged only at 1c I believe. You are correct in saying that you 3500mah should be charged at 3.5 amps...so a 5k could be charged at 5amp and so on

2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S
3. MBX-5 ONROAD CONVERSION 1515, MMM ON 5S
4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S

Most Lipos can only be charged at 1C of the packs rated capacity. Unless the manufacturer says other ways, always stick with 1C charge rate.
