HPI Vorza Flux HP

I think if you talked to an HPI rep they would be very careful in answering questions about this "top speed, recommended gear" subject. I remember seeing a different thread (possibly on another forum) where someone was calling out HPI on some claims about the Savage Flux (62mph, can or can't use NiMH, etc.). They posted the response from an HPI rep and it pretty much boiled down to "We are just showing what can be done and what equipment is needed, we are not saying this is a good idea or that it is covered under warranty if you wreck your vehicle and/or components."

I would imagine they would say the same for this situation.

I don't see why they need to recommend the 2650kV motor to reach higher speeds. Why not just run the 2200kV on 6s and gear taller. The 2200kV on 6s should have more than enough power to push a relatively light (relative to a truggy or MT) buggy to insane speeds without consuming as much current or spin at catastrophic rpms. Unless their motor mount doesn't allow for a larger tooth count pinion and you're limited to pinion size.

It's too bad that not everyone has access to this site or some other form of information other than "what the box said" because HPI is out to make money.
