Which truggy should I get?

Heya,
I'm looking to buy a truggy roller to make electric. So far, the only ones I've looked at and am able to buy are:

Hong Nor/Jammin/Ofta X1 CRT - £90

and

Hot Bodies Lightning Stadium 2 Pro - £100

I've already been told that RC-Monster has the parts to convert the HBLS to brushless, but i'm not sure about the CRT.

I plan on running the MMM 2200 combo on 6s in there - I don't race, only bash, and i'd like to try and achieve 70+mph with speed runs.


Has anyone had any experience with either of these two truggies?

I liked the way the lightning based turggies handled.
I haven't had a lot of exp with them though.

I'm not too bothered about handling, since I only bash. I'm more interested in durability, and weight, since that will slow it down.

Look at the Mugen mbx-5T as well. I picked up a roller no to long ago w/4 sets of tires, $ 100- worth of spares and the truggy was in teriffic shape for $250- shipped. It took me a month of serarching nightly, but, it was worth it. They are built like tanks. I own a Mugen truggy and bugg and love them both

I've been searching for AGES for a Mugen to show up, but it never has. I'm limited to buying from the UK, so that might be why. A couple have shown up, but they have both been far too expensive.

Do you think £100 for a Hong Nor X1 CTR is worth it? They are pretty expensive new...
Now that I think about it, so are the Hot Bodies...

EDIT: Holy cow! I just looked at the weight of the Hong Nor rolling chassis, and its over 4KG?!

Why restrict yourself to the UK? The Germans also offer some truggies on a regular bases. The NL, Be, Lux, Fr, Sp not so much unfortunately. Shipping from DE will cost a little more, but not that much, besides you don't have the whole taxes problem since it's within the EU.

Ok i've found someone offering me a Mugen MBX5r roller for £150. I havent heard much about this one, is it any good? Could it be converted to electric?

If you want something cheap and reliable then for for the Ofna.

think about parts availability when buying.you may pick up a roller for cheap but end up spending heaps getting spares because they have to come from timbuktu perhaps.just my 2 cents

I've got someone offering me a Mugen MBX5r for £150, and another person offering a Team Associated RC8 for £125. Are either of these any good durability-wise? The RC8 looks like its lighter and easier to convert to electric...

I've decided I don't want the Hong Nor or Hot Bodies, rather, I don't want a truggy but rather a buggy, because truggies are too heavy and I won't be able to reach 100mph.

Shooting for 100 mph in a buggy...wow. As I said, the mugens are built like tanks and the associated makes a great buggy as well. Seeing as you are looking to go as fast as possible...I suggest looking at the weight of the ones you are looking at. The mugen for example is heavier than the associated...etc...Both buggies are super easy to convert.

Mike sells a complete conversion kit for the associasted...http://www.rc-monster.com/rcm.php. Mike's kits are super simple to do the conversion with.

cool, well yeah I'd want the lightest buggy i suppose, to go fast. I've just heard people saying the Rc8 is no where near as durable as the Mugen.

I like the look of that conversion kit, but that would mean buying excess parts since I would already have the chassis etc
