MCD 1:5 conversion - help with choosing motor - 11.21.2009, 11:49 AM

Hi!

I'm right now planning to convert a MCD Race Runner/Baja 4WD.
I'dont have the car yet since I haven't found a used car. To expensive to buy a new one.

The plan is to use the mount from HM-modellbau.de (onefive.de) and I want to use 8S (4+4) since then I can also use them in my Truggy 1:8. But if needed I can easily add a 2S to get 10S.

So what motor should I get`
I live in Europe so on firsthand I'm looking at Lehner.

I guess the smallest I could use would be the Lehner 2280 Hi-amp. But is it enough?
Then there is the 3040 wich I have seen do great at 8S in a FG monster 4WD.

The we have the Plettenberg Bolido and the Neu's.

So what do you guys think?

given the choices i'd go with the lehner 3040.

if I had deep pockets i'd go with the bolido. It's no better but 10x sexier.
