truggy dimensions - 12.05.2009, 11:24 AM

I always thought that overall the Associated RC8t was the biggest truggy afther the Kyosho Inferno ST-RR?

Kyosho dimensions:
Length: 22.64 in. (575mm)
Width: 16.85 in. (428mm)
Wheelbase: 14.68-14.88 in. (373-378mm)
Track width: 13.90 in. (353mm)

Associated dimensions:
Length: 22.5" (571mm)
Width: 16.9" (429mm)
Wheelbase: 14.8" (375mm)
Track: 13.8" (352mm) outer edges of wheels, side-to-side

but than I bumped into this site abou the Hobao Hypyer ST Pro:
http://www.rccaraction.com/ME2/Sites...5200E5A3C25B85

Length: 22.75 in. (577.85mm)
Width: 17.75 in. (450.85mm)
Wheelbase: 14.375 in. (365.12mm)

But these specs seem to be waay of according to the official numbers from the Ofna catalogue page 17:
http://digitaleditiononline.com/publication/?i=12986

Length: 514
Width: 408
Wheelbase: 368

So at first I thought the Hobao Ofna was the biggest but that seems to be false, so how did they get those dimensionfigures on that website?

And my main question is actually: wich are the biggest 1/8 4WD truggies in dimensions, outside of the Kyosho and Associated ones?

thx!

thx dude!

I've made a overview of the truggies I could come up with and their dimensions:
Hong Nor - Ofna - Jammin X2:
Length: 513mm
Width: 149mm
(this can't be right, got it for tower-hobbies but can't seem to find the specs somewhere else...)

Losi Eight-T:
Length: 555.63mm
Width: 415.9mm
Wheelbase: 368.3-372.1mm

Hot Bodies D8T:
(see post above bdebde)

Mugen MBX6T:
Length: 565mm
Width: 433mm
Wheelbase: 315 - 320mm

Hobao and Kyosho truggy:
(see first post)

XRAY - XT8 (spec 2009)
Length: 573 mm
With: 440 mm
Wheelbase: 376-380 mm

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Xtray XT8 seems to be the biggest truggy overall?

Well, they all may measure overall length different (w or w/o wing/body), but it appears the D8T has the longest wheelbase (probably better dimension to go by). overall size can be changed with different body or wing set up. width can be changed with offset wheels or hubs

okidoki, thx again.

Btw I found this strange thing about the dimensions of the new Xray XT8 on their website...
This is the "specs page":
http://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/pro...ame=XRAY%20XT8
Length: 574 mm
Width: 428 mm front; 430 mm rear
Wheelbase: 380~384 mm
Ready-to-run weight: 3732 g

And here is the "description page" wich gives other dimensions:
http://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/pro...ame=XRAY%20XT8
Length: 560 mm
Width: 430~422mm
Wheelbase: 363~367 mm
Weight: RTR 3952g ; 2262g

So according to the most generous dimensions the new Xray has the biggest wheelbase out there (with just 1mm, but still) + the second biggest length (also just 1mm less than the Kyosho) + and according to wich figures you base on, the second largest width or the biggest with 440mm according to a german review (can be found on the XT8 website).

But I've made a decision, I'm going for a Xray XT8 2009 spec and convert it into brushless with a MMM combo.
Unfortunatelly I'm not gonna by everything immediately since I have exams coming up in January till begin February :( Otherwise i would be to distracted in building the kit etc

Pluspoint is meanwhile I can do research about gearing, conversion kits, diff oils and most important saving up more money and maybe looking for some cheap sites :)
