Replacing motor wires on a Neu -

Hello !
Is it possible to change motor wires on a Neu 1515 DIY ?
I got a chance to by this motor for about USD 50 and if I can change the wires it might be a good deal...
Indeed. Remove the old shrink, put some new glue lined stuff on & make sure it goes into the motor a little bit. Then cover those holes to prevent the motor and bearings filling up with sand- thats not good for the motor if the bearing fails, could cause the rotor to flail around inside the can, or even jam up solid..
the motor probably has a bad stator. Anyway, NEU will charge $80 for the fix, and they will replace the bearings as well. I just had something like to done. So, like the other post said, its not worth it to buy and get it fix.
If he buys it for 50 and spends 80 fixing it, he just got a 260 dollar motor for 130. Half price ain't a bad deal and worth it in my opinion. If it were me I would try to get the price down a little more. Maybe you can snag it for 30 then it's really worth it.
you can always try to do what neil said just make sure the wires are not touching any other metal surface on the can an shrink wrap it then if all else fails sent it to get fixed
