Orion 1/8 brushless esc and motors?? - 02.11.2010, 09:43 PM

Sorry if this is a repost.

I just saw the new 1/8 brushless esc and motors from Orion on the Amain and haven't heard anything about them. Went to their website and they aren't even listed, amain has no specs other than the motors are 4 pole and come in 3 different kv ratings 1750,1950,2300. Does anyone else have any info on them?

Here is a link to amain listing of them, sorry about linking to another sales site but I couldn't find info on them anywhere. (If this is inappropriate, mods please edit out).

Like you, I've only seen pics of them. Same thing with the LRP motors, I've only seen pics of it.

Tough to break into the 1/8 electric market when you have Tekin and Castle to compete with. Might be a very solid controller, but for it to take off there needs to be enough people willing to take the plunge and be the first to try them out and give them a solid reputation. Aside from the Orion fans there might be a relative few willing to give them a chance. I personally wouldn't at this point, but give it a year and we'll see then.

I have a couple of their Nimh chargers/dischargers as well as a couple of their lipos and they are all top notch stuff. Their pricing for the speedo is even very good, competitive with the MMP, but you are for sure right that noone is going to jump in to buy their stuff if there is no specs on it.
