Backlight for Spektrum DX3S,R ???? - 03.05.2010, 09:33 PM

I caught wind (not a fart) that someone or a company either sells or will install a backlight in your Spektrum TX, Anybody hear this ?

For the big brained fellows such as BrianG, What would it take to install a back light of some sort in these TX's , obvisously the Horizon Warentee will be voided.

Any ideas ????

I did find a couple thread/posts on forums but I'd rather take instructions from someone whom I know and can trust

Are you sure it wasn't a fart? I've never heard of such a thing...

Though I would like to try it on my DX2 and a few chargers.

i did it to two of my old Ice chargers. pretty easy stuff, if you take your time and are careful. a tiny bit of soldering was the most technical it got.

Xray XT8 (Neu powered) MMM on 5s
MD 500 scale heli - castle HV-45 on 3s
Eflite Blade 400 heli on 3s

I did a pair of ice chargers and a pair of mrc chargers with kits I got off ebay. Not difficult but you need clean hands (no vaseline)...

I cannot remember the name but the guy was in barbados or something like that and the name was island something...

Keep it out of your eyes and you should be fine.

I am glad you have such a clever nick name for me. I think I will stick to bondoscrot for you. I can imagine having freshly mixed bondo applied to the ole' skin chandeliers, would be quite "interesting"... Bondo gets hot as it dries... And unless you wax it would be painful to remove!

James, dude, that, I believe, is the worst mental image I've ever got from a post on the interwebs... How do you keep it up? Do tell...

@Bondo: Back on topic, I think the best way to get backlighting on your transmitter is to upgrade it to a 3PK or 4PK J/K

I would like to stress that I have never applied any sort of activated body filler to my nether regions.

Bondoscrot, on the other hand, likes to dabble in that sort of sick and twisted stuff. His partner in crime is of course Harold (spazticized)... I just hope they DO NOT have photo documentation of this kind of unacceptable and disgusting behavior.

Bondo and Spaztix? So would that be the opposite of Goldmember?

Hmm, so many ideas and posts I can't keep up w/them all ?

I just thought a bright Red back light would be super cool, not to mention maybe useful and handy ?

Would be cool for sure, but practicality might dictate otherwise. Might be cheaper to get a 3PK, just sayin'

Led's are becoming my latest obsession.

Here's an interesting tidbit for ya Bondo. I don't know much about the charger in question, but all you would need for this is some operating voltage in the proper range.

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/s...ip-White_(1mtr)

I have one of these in front of me. They are very bright. This strip comes to you a meter at a time. Within this meter, are 60 bright little boogers. Divided into groups of 3, they can be cut and used.

Cut, Wire it up, then all you have to do is figure out where to stick it. LOL

It's only about 3mm thick.

If your charger uses 12 volts as a power supply, wire it up to that. If your charger is getting power, then it's display is lit up.

Crap! I just realized you're talking a transmitter? Right? LOL

I'm not going to edit this. Now you can do your charger too if you wanna.
