Angry VANTAGE cf revo chassis RE0303 - 04.02.2010, 08:59 AM

I would write a reviews of this chassis but some idiot at the packaging service was watching a porn while was preparing my order.
I'm very upset and disappointed.
But how can you think to ship a strong (but fragile) item all around the world in a miserable plastic envelope without any precautions???
Sorry for my bad english...

This is the result...

I've bought Lipos form over seas and they arrive in a envelope with little to no packing material ? If only the pilots knew what was on board and packed so carelessly they shiz their pants. Just another example of moronic people trying to save a buck on shipping I guess ?

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

That stinks. Mine came the same way but came away with a tiny chip on the corner of one part. If you get your money back, etc. and still want one, PM me and we can set up a price and payment. I'll ship it in a box (I have the one with the steel center drives as well) I'll never use it. I bought it for an e-revo conversion and then just went with an e-revo chassis so it's collecting dust (along with my conversion bits)

Damn...

When I shipped aluminium chassis plates to Linc I made sure that they were stuck down to a thick piece of stiff card, then sandwiched between several extra layers card & bubble wrap. How can anyone be so careless as to just chuck a CF chassis in a thin plastic envelope and expect it to arrive in good condition- I'd seriously give them hell.

so how is this a bad review for the vantage chassis, shouldn't it be a bad review of the shipper?

you should know that the CF chassis gains alot of its structure from the bulkheads being attached just like the stock aluminum version.

i have been useing that same chassis on my platinum for 2 years with no problems

You are partially right,

But i purchased it directly from the VANTAGE Racing homesite not from a reseller...so their shipping service is a part of the item bought.

I've send this picture to Vantage and they promptly reply me.
They apologize for the fault and will sent me a new one in a stronger box for free.
So, as soon i'll receive it i'll make a true review.

I hope that what happened to me correspond to a new shipping policy from Vantage.
Because their products are very well made. The exterior surface is so smooth that it seems a plastic cast. But i've seen (in the break part) all the carbon fiber layers.

I think there is a former or mold of sorts that the layers of Cf are laid over & then covered with epoxy- results in a smooth finish, though it may be polished too.

Good that they've got you sorted out with another chassis- you could bolt the end of a stock chassis to the broken one to create an aluminium & CF hybrid...
