Question Does anyone know who made these diff cases? - 03.27.2010, 02:28 PM

Other than the UE Ultralite diff cases, these are the only other set I have ever seen that have the locator pins machined into the cases, instead of having them as separate pieces. Does anyone know who made these?

they might be a form of bKnight custon 1 off diff cases
holds 1/8 diffs in maxx type bulks. I'll try to post some pics from UE 2moro. altough they might be fake Ultralights from Billytrucks123. Thats my two guesses.

They do hold stock Maxx diffs, not 1/8 diffs, and the diffs in the first pic just have aluminum cups...but they are stock Traxxas Maxx diffs.

There was another company that made diff cases and an arm kit for the maxx. Trophy Truck. Their diff cases had the locator pin machined into the case too. I've only seen the 1/8 versions thouigh. Can't say if these could be them, been so long.

x2 they are absolutely barnburner diff cases, from barnburner enterprises which is long expired.

One thing to note on those diff cases are that they were intended for NITRO maxx use, and thus they spin backwards compared to a conventional e-maxx operation. The built in collar makes flipping them impossible.

I found this out the hard way in an e-maxx build. It was way back in the hv-maxx days. There was no way to reverse the motor rotation with the novak setup, so I had kershaw make me an opposite facing motor mount. (think gorillamaxxx mount, but stout)

Turn the tranny around... That would accomplish the reverse rotation. Linkage for the 2sp would be awkward, but the 2sp is not really needed on a BL truck...

All you have to do is turn the diffs around inside the diff cases...done.

I don't need or want them, I have just never seen outer cases like that, and wanted to know who made them.
