This is what I started with, General Silicon Storm CL-1 Advanced Nitro (booo) chassis
And this what I accomplished today (with the help of Ben).......Used a piece of 2in angle aluminum hit it with a bandsaw and the drill press and this is what we have......Oh and a RCMonster battery tray that is for a losi...Thank you Ben!
its a good start, i think you will have problems with your motor mount bending though, i have done alot of geto motor mounts out of L channel and most on them that were under 1/8 failed pretty quickly

It should be its...6061 so it should be strong enough...Only time will tell...
I would also be concerned about the mount. If it was 3/16" or 1/4" I personally would not worry. ( it looks like 1/8" to me ) Just watch it carefully
1. MBX-6 T8 1900KV, RX8 ON 4S
2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S
3. MBX-5 ONROAD CONVERSION 1515, MMM ON 5S
4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S
We know its not a long term solution. it was simply to see the truck move under its own power
It can be reinforced very easily buy putting another 1/8in piece to make it 1/4in. Ill prob get the one made by RCM when I have the money....
Its a start and it gets me rolling.
